Vehicle Detail
This Chevelle has all new chassis and running gear. The front end has 12” disc brakes and fully adjustable control arms from SPC Performance. The rear end has all the Edelbrock adjustable and tubular control arms and stiffners as well as an upgraded sway bar as well as Wilwood discs brakes. The running gear is the impressive part. The engine is a LS crate engine special ordered from Chevrolet. It comes from the LS2 family. It was ordered to have a carburetor. I had the manifold tapped by Wilson Manifolds to add fuel injection. I did it this way so you would still have the classic look of a 14” air cleaner. The electronics for the engine are controlled by the Big Stuff 3 fully programmable system. Chevy rates this engine at 440hp. The transmission has been upgraded to a 700r4 built with the hardened shafts and lockup converter. Because of this the driveshaft had to be shortened and rebalanced. I found a 12 bolt rear end out of a 69 Chevelle and had that rebuilt. It now has 3.73 gears with a posi. In all this car is a solid running car. I drove it every day for about 5 years. What it needs is paint and some finishing touches on the interior. The paint was redone about 8 years ago but when I moved the car got stuck outside and a windstorm ruined the paint. I figured the buyer could get it painted to the color of their choice. The interior is in good condition and the only area of concern is the driver seat ( it needs to be recovered and I have a guy that can do it for $200). I replaced the door skins, headliner, package tray, dash pad, recovered rear seat and put new carpet in. I also POR-15 the whole interior so you don’t have to worry about rust. As you can tell this car was my baby. I am selling it because I don’t drive it anymore and want someone to have it that has the time for it. It also gets around 25 mpg because the fuel injection.
