Here for Auction today I have a fairly Rare Mercedes Benz 280 Coupe with a Gas motor. This was a project car that ran fine prior to being put into storage several years ago.The brakes were replaced and this Car is Original down to the Wire wheels.It also comes with the Original hubcaps and manual book.The odometer does not work so I am uncertain about the actual miles.The body is straight with no dents and the glass is good as well. The interior is in Good condition and the Radio does not work,perhaps a fuse.I drove it for several weeks prior to putting it in storage after I did the brakes so I am uncertain why it now needs to be primed before starting it.I checked into fuel pumps and they are available and believe it or not do not cost that much compared to pumps for these new junky units that Ford and GM and Chrysler are selling. I checked the current Value of the car just as it sits and my asking price of 1000.00 is way way below Book. The high end for these little Gems is around 12,000 and up to 18,000 for one in Near Mint Condition.Mileage on these Classics is not a factor when computing a Value,however I believe the Original miles are low and the motor itself is clean.The Greman technology is Superior when it comes to building a motor to last. This two door has serious potential and would look awesome with a little TLC and polish.The Car is located in St.Paul,Minnesota and is currently in garage storage.The high bidder will be responsible for moving the vehicle and help will be provided to get it started.The high bidder can either drive it after we get it started or can have a trailer and go that route.This Car was sold once before on E-bay roughly not quite a year ago for 2300.00 and for what ever reason the High bidder failed to follow thru. It had received 17 bids and after the High bidder backed out I Never offered it to the Second highest bidder,nor did I relist it as I had Second thoughts again about getting it ready to drive in the Spring and again Never got the time to play with it since the Birth of my Daughter. I need the money as raising a baby needs serious funding and now must find a New home for the car.I am Selling the Car AS IS since it does need some minor work,however The Car does run and I have a Clear Title and is AS Described. Please Do Not Bid on this Car unless you actually plan on following thru as I have contacted E-bay about the knuckleheads who bid and don't follow thru.You will be barred from E-bay,from buying and or Selling so Keep that in mind as they are cracking down due to the complaints from Sellers.I just checked NADA Book for this Car and the Low Retail is 4575.00 with the Avg.Retail being 7675.00. The high bidder will be Expected to Deposit 500.00 into my Pay Pal Account 48 hours after Auction ends,No exceptions.I will also expect a Valid Phone Number with Area Code so we can set up a pickup time.The balance will be due upon picking the vehicle up and releasing Title.Good luck bidding and hopefully we can find a Good home for this Old Classic Gem. I need to add that these Cars Do Not Go Down in Value and if you have a Garage to store it just for the Value Increase it will see in the next Ten Years,that would be reason to bid. The 1953 2 Dr. Coupe Model 300 can Sell easy for 30-60.000 in basically the same shape as this 73 and up to 140,000 in Near Mint. What I am saying is that this Car is certain to go way up in value if you can warehouse it. This was just one example as their are many more Old Mercedes that Sell for serious money.
