Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1989 Spider Alfa Romeo 5 speed Graduate in good condition from my acquaintances grandfather. This is a two owner car that has been sitting in storage since 2003. The car originally came from Arizona and shortly after the second owner (acquaintances grandfather) bought the car and brought it to NY he fell sick and didn’t get to use the car very much. The last time the car was registered was in NY in 2003. The car remained in the garage for most of its time but the last two years the car was parked in the driveway. The car has 66K original miles and has very little rust. There is no rust underneath the car or around the car. There are a few spots that are shown in pictures provided. The paint also seems to be in good shape with the exception of some paint peeling on the hood and in some places it appears as if the clear coat on the paint is peeling (not sure if visible in the pics). The top has a small cut but otherwise there are no major cuts or breaks and the rear window appears to be clear without any cuts or holes, After the mechanic added some fresh gas changed the oil and the car started right up. The engine sounds good but runs s bit rough and according to the mechanic the car will need a new fuel filter and a general tune-up, etc. This car does have AC but didn’t test if it works when the car was started. The transmission was shifting fine and even drove the car for a very short distance in the driveway but the clutch linkage broke (pointing with my finger shown in the pictures) and now the clutch pedal is non operational. Interior also appears to be in good shape (please see pictures) with a small rip on the stitches on the seat and some fading on the carpet color. Wheels and tires appear to be in good shape but please refer to the pictures and judge on your own and there is also a full spare with the mag wheel similar to the 4 wheels on the car now. Overall for the age of the car this is certainly a survivor and a great car to restore with minimal work for an Alfa Romeo enthusiast. Since this is not my car and I haven’t really driven it or really know much about these type of cars selling the car as-is. If you need to see additional pictures let me know and I will be happy to send more pics. If you are the highest bidder and plan on having this car shipped I will be available for shipping company to load the car but buyer is responsible to make needed arrangements. The highest bidder must pay a $500 deposit once auction has been completed. Good luck bidding!
