Vehicle Detail
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible Project Real 1957 Chevrolet Convertible in need of complete restoration. It has lived a hard life , but deserves to be returned to its former glory. I was told, in the 1970's it terrorized the streets of Philly with a straight front axle and a nasty big block chevy. In the 1980's the straight axle and big block were removed and a 1969 Nova sub frame was grafted to the front of the stock frame. They did a very good job. It looks almost factory. The previous owner made it a driver , with a small block and th350. With the addition of the subframe , it was now equipped with power steering and power disc brakes. When I bought it , the motor was locked up. I removed the motor and trans with plans of starting the restoration. I bought another car , so I lost interest. Now , There is no motor and no trans. Has a non original 10 bolt rear. It has a Cadillac front seat and steering column. Original rear seat. It has the convertible top frame , but no pumps or motor. Please look at all pictures closely. I have a hood and some stainless I will include in the sale , but nothing rare. If you don't see it on the car , it means I probably don't have it. The vin tag is in the door jamb , but the trim tag is missing from the firewall. I was told they can be reproduced. I have a clear PA title in my name. 1957 Chevy convertibles are one of the most iconic and recognized cars in the world. With the exception of a few convertible specific parts , you can buy everything to restore this car. Please email all questions and inspect pictures before making an offer. It is available for inspection before bidding.
