Vehicle Detail
I continue to keep unique cars here at my store in Charleston South Carolina and this 1995 Mercedes is no different. I bought this car about 5 months ago and left the car in my warehouse till i figured out what all i needed to do to it. All i found was a leaky hydraulic valve that is located on both sides near the rear side windows. I had both sides done and had them make sure the system was tight after that and it was. We did a preventative reverse gear job on the transmission which means the tranny was pulled out and the clutch material for reverse was replaced. This is a common issue for E classes and I didnt want the next owner to have any issues. I have had quite a few 1993 to 1995 Eclass cabriolets and know what to look for and what is common to have issues on these cars and from everything I can tell it is ready for show or daily driving. There isn't any better way to describe this car other than a virtually new car with the exception of an average cleanliness undercarriage showing no corrosion. This car is absolutely in 1995 condition, Interior is flawless. Leather/MB TEX is perfect front and back, all panels are flawless, wood is excellent, vents are not broken, dash is straight, carpets are perfect, everything works as it should, A.C. Heat, windows, radio, cruise, rear safety headrests raise and lower as they should, there is even cork material at the base of the right door panel cupholder just like factory and all the plastic pieces throughout the car are in perfect condition. They are'nt painted or resprayed they are in original condition or have been replaced with Mercedes OEM parts. The seat belt extenders also work on both sides correctly ! Also the odometer reads correctly and the odo trip meter works correctly also. No stripped out odometer gears here ! The body of this car is straight as it was when new and has had a complete disassembly of exterior pieces before a high quality respray of entire vehicle including the matte finish bumpers. All chrome and stainless parts are still like new showing very few blemishes. The car has been resprayed the original color and it still retains all door jamb labels. The top is in practically new condition showing very little wear if any at all. When the tonneau cover in the rear comes up you can see ever bolt and piece of the unit and it look like they the did in 1995 at the factory. Car is just near perfect. Tires have plenty of tread on them and the wheels are in nice shape with the exception of a little flaking in the inset of face of the wheel. Not too bad but need to let you know about it. They could actually be cleaned up and shot in flat black or the color of the car.. Most people would'nt really notice What i have been told that I might have is a possible restoration job by a Mercedes Restoration Shop in California or one like it that specializes in Mercedes cars . My guys at the shop as well as me have seen very few cars that are only 19 or 20 years old getting this much attention. Car cranks up as it should and drives with ease plenty off power and very smooth, Transmission shifts very well and power steering is as it should be. Overall it's a very comfortable drive and it handle bumps very well also (no clunks or rattles whatsoever) it drives like you would hope it to. I have taken some photos of the undercarriage and pretty much the car looks to be in above average condition for a 1995 but not as nice as the top of course. All lines are in place as well new rubber output shaft dampers with new bolts. NO rust anywhere at all. Very little seepage under the motor but nothing that seems to need attention. It has sat in my warehouse for 5 months and nothing has dripped so I wouldnt worry about it and i'm pretty particular. I will be posting more photos on my website at SOUTHERNMOTORCOSC.COM. You will also see photos of the top which is black in color. According to Carfax the vehicle has had 2 owners yet it may only be one owner since the car moved from California to South Carolina. Carfax sometimes records it as a second owner when a vehicle is registered into another state. I am only listing this car on E bay so it is fair to all who are doing their due diligence while watching this vehicle. I strongly recommend shipping this vehicle enclosed as the car deserves it. I ship vehicles of all values quite often so please message me your zipcode and I can get you a quote. Please feel free to send questions as I am a car guy who happens to be in the car business. If anyone can shed any light as to where I can find info on Mercedes restorations or a registry of some sort I would appreciate it. I have described this car to the best of my knowledge and coming from a professional auto detailing world and working my way up to the owner of a nice independent car dealership, The car is as described and viewed.. I am not risking my feedback for anything. Chris Salisbury Southern Motor Company 4252 Rivers ave. Charleston S.C. 29405 1 843 568 0547 cell 1 843 277 2983 store
