1967 FIREBIRD 326 65K ORIGINAL MILES, WORKING A/C Original Silverglaze, deluxe interior, console, black cordova top. 2 OWNER HISTORY. Remarkable find and opportunity. 1967 Pontiac Firebird 326 with 65,000 original miles. Purchased new by original owner in 1967 (NJ) who owned and used as a second car until his passing in 1999. The car was meticulously maintained. It was then purchased from the estate by a close friend who drove sparingly over the last 14 years (total of 1k miles). The cars sat outside under a tarp for the last several years which is how I came about finding it. It is extremely original - never been modified or cut up and the engine / drivetrain is original. Mechanically, the car is outstanding. The engine cranks right up, runs quiet and strong. The car tracks straight, shifts smooth, and stops well. It is very tight. The wipers, turn signals, lights, and horn all work as they should. The radio is the original AM and is not working - may only require a new antenna. Brand new replacement exhaust system installed. The A/C system was recharged and has no leaks. The A/C vent door has a tendency to stick otherwise all components are in excellent working order. Tires are all in excellent condition with plenty of tread. The interior is in great original condition. The deluxe door panels are original and in remarkable condition. The headliner needs replacement. The doors shut beautifully and the body panels are very straight. The windows roll up and down with no problems. The carpet has a tear on the driver side floor near the pedals, otherwise it is in very good condition. The car spent some time outside in the elements protected only by a tarp. There are some rust issues on the body that will need to be addressed. They will require some patch panels, body work followed by a repaint. The quarters are solid with some rust on the lower portions. The undercarriage is in good overall condition but will require some repair / replacement to the floor pan. The frame, shock towers, and trunk are all in good condition. The trim on the car is in excellent condition and can be easily be re-used. The chrome bumpers could use a re-chrome or replacement. This is a very straightforward, low mile 1st year Firebird that is an excellent restoration candidate. The car can also be driven with confidence as a patina driver. I purchased the car with the intent on restoring it but I have another car that I starting working on. If the auction ends without a buyer, I will likely restore it myself.
