Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I have owned the bus for eight years. It was originally purchased in California and has a rust free, solid frame. The gas tank has been removed and professionally cleaned and sealed. All the hoses were replaced as well as the fuel sender. The rear CV Joints were replaced. The front Ball Joints were replaced. The brake master cylinder and vacuum servo unit have been replaced. It has had regular tune ups the last one completed a few months ago by my regular mechanic. During that tune up all the fuel lines were replaced as was the filter, distributor cap, rotor, points, condenser, spark plugs and wires, fuel pump, engine oil and transmission fluid. The ignition switch has been replaced. There are two VDO gauges. One is for oil pressure and the other is for oil temperature. The transmission shifts easily. It starts at first try and runs strong. I drive on the freeway around 60 mph. I do not like to push the engine. All of the doors and windows have new seals except for the front windshield seal which was replaced by the previous owner. The front seats and door panels have new upholstery. The steering wheel has a leather cover. The interior has been completely removed and the center floor and side panels have sound deadening material applied. There is new wood on the center floor as well as the side panels. The front and center floors are covered with new carpets. I have only driven the car 8000 miles since I have owned it but I cannot verify if the odometer has not turned over. The tires were new from the previous owner. The radio has a single CD player with a removable face. The awning is new. I set it up once for the pictures. It can be set up by one person. It has an Optima spiral-cell battery and a battery cut off switch. A new scissor jack and the car cover are included. The paint is not perfect but overall it looks very good. The bus has had some amateur body work done in the past but it shows well. The top was repainted by a professional car painter. There is some surface bubbling in the paint below the lower seal of the windshield. There is a small rock chip in the windshield visible above the mirror. This bus has been an important part of my life. I have enjoyed driving it and it receives positive compliments wherever I go. I have tried to maintain it as an example of a stock 1971 Westfalia with all of the great touches that make it unique. The 1971 year is one of the most desirable because of the upright dual port engine and power assist front disc brakes. The Bently Manual is included along with the Owner’s Manual and Operating instructions for the Campmobile. There are some extra new parts for backup. The registration is current and I have the Title in hand. The car is sold as-is. No guarantees or warranties apply. Buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping and making arrangements. I will be present when the car is loaded onto the trailer. I will sell to North America only. A $500.00 deposit must be paid to me through PayPal within 48 hours of close of auction. If the deposit is not received within that time, I reserve the right to relist the car. The balance must be paid within 7 days of the close of auction. If you have less than 20 positive feedbacks you must contact me before bidding or I will cancel the bid. I will only accept cash, money order or a certified cashiers check, no exceptions. Please do not bid unless you have the funds available. The car will not be released until the money has cleared my bank. After that, I will send the Title by registered mail. Good Luck bidding.
