Vehicle Detail
This 1973 Super Beetle is a 4-Speed and comes from Birmingham AL. I am the 3rd owner. I purchased it from an elderly couple 2 years ago. The original owner was in Arkansas. THIS IS THE FARTHEST NORTH THIS CAR HAS EVER BEEN! There is no rust whatsoever, and the entire car is solid! The car has been garage kept all of its life and only has 29,958 original miles on it! I have done nothing with this thing, but sink money into it over the past 2 years, and drive it on a Sunday here and there. It is a great little car, and will make its new owner very proud to call it their own! Everything on this car works as if it just rolled off of the dealership lot! Air cooled. Now for the Goods: The car comes with both sets of original VW keys and the original owner's manual. Stickers on the inside of the driver side door with service dates of 7/2/74 and 4/1/77. Very cool to show off. Original steering wheel cover. The outside has been repainted to match the factory color. Vintage LOOKING radio from JBugs in CA. New antenna. New speaker. Cup holder also from JBugs, beets the ash tray, never smoked in it anyways. All shift linkages replaced to stop shifter rattle Dipped, resurfaced, and repainted fuel tank -like new now New motor/tranny mounts. They were a bit dry rotted. Stopped engine vibrations Replaced clutch and flywheel while the motor was out New distributor and rotor Rebuilt carb -again keeping everything original! All new fuel lines All new brake lines New master cylinder New wheel cylinders All new brakes and drums All new air tubes New muffler and tail pipes New battery New starter Rebuilt ignition switch -notorious plastic piece brakes off inside of them. The front, rear windshields, along with the two quarter window seals have been replaced. New Chrome inserts from JBugs as well Here is JBugs website. I recommend them, great parts for a good price: jbugs dot com This is a true collector's piece here. I feel like I am in the back of my Grandfather's 72 every time I get in this thing! Have had a lot of fun with this car, and loved to bring it back to life. I have a new project car now, and hope this thing goes to someone that will truly enjoy and appreciate it.
