You are viewing a very rare 1960 Austin Healey 948cc Bugeye Sprite "weekend driver" example. Being offered at "Low Reserve" due to recent loss of storage. Vin #: AN5L/37016 Engine #: 9C-U-H-36668 "948cc". Color: White with Red Interior Clear "Michigan" Title Mileage: 72,985 (actual miles not known) Includes a rare "Factory Hardtop" The Austin Healey has been garage stored for many years and is a great "daily driver". Very solid example that is an older repaint with many new parts including to make it a reliable weekend driver. Always starts easily and draws compliments every time it's out of the garage. Under the hood the "Bugeye" looks pretty much all original as it left the factory. The engine runs strong and starts easily with the pull of the choke. Has good oil pressure and has no issues with smoke out the exhaust. The drive train was recently removed in order to replace the original transmission. A new "Moss" transmission was installed as shown in the underside photo's. Needless to say the new transmission shifts and performs great. At that time, a new exhaust was installed as well as new motor mounts and coolant hoses. When the engine was removed, it was detailed and painted. As with all Brit cars, it does mark it's territory with a small oil drop near the drain plug. A new washer may solve that. All gauges work fine except the tach which is not hooked up. All lights work as they should however the blinkers work intermittently. Wipers & Horn in-op. Master cylinder is relatively new. Brakes work fine with no known issues. No charging issues or dead battery issues. Has new wiring harness. Fitted with new 155-80-13 tires with "Minator" Minilight style wheels. The interior is in near new condition as shown in the pictures. The seats are in very nice condition as well as the door panels (front and rear). The dash has been recovered as well and looks very nice. Carpet in good condition but not original style. Has new seat belts. The body is in solid condition and looks very good for it's age. The body is driver quality and has normal imperfections of an older paint job. This would consist of some paint chips, light scratches & minor rust. Both door hinges have play and need to be lifted slightly to close them properly. The driver's side door will interfere if not opened carefully. Floors look solid but have previous patch repair as shown in under side pictures. Trunk is solid as shown in the trunk picture. Driver's side rocker panel has a dent as shown in the pictures. The body does not show any exterior rust however there is some rust in the front of the inner rocker panel. At some point the hood had been changed to a flip front, but it has since been converted back to factory configuration and locks as it should. There are 2 hood locks that are still present but do not serve any function. They are not very noticeable, but worth noting. Grill has been painted silver and is not factory finish. Has new rear bumpers, new rear "Sprite" badge & new headlight buckets. Comes with a very rare factory hardtop as shown in the pictures. It is in good original condition with small imperfections in the fiberglass. Could use new seals as well as new paint. Rear plexiglass window in good condition. A very rare factory option that adds value and versatility to the "Bugeye Experience". There is no convertible top, frame or side curtains. All in all a nice weekend driver. Far from perfect, but always draws compliments. You can bring to your local British Car Show or Cars and Coffee and be proud of your little Bugeye. Has just the perfect amount of "Patina".
