We are proud to offer this clean example of this fun to drive 1981 Alfa Romeo Spider. And we are doing so by means of this NO RESERVE AUCTION, meaning that the highest bidder at the end of the 7-day auction will own this beautiful piece of history for a fraction of the price. We recently purchased this vehicle at an auto auction in Pennsylvania. The previous owner bought this vehicle in 1987 and before him, it was owned only by it's original owner. Yes! This 33 year old Alfa has had only two previous owners! The overall condition of the car is a 7.5 out of 10 taking it's age in consideration. The frame and body are 100% RUST FREE, putting in evidence that this car has been stored indoors. The body is very straight, with minimal if any blemishes. The paint is not original neither the color is. Judging from some spots where it has become noticeable, this Alfa Romeo was originally light blue. Although the paint looks shinny a few feet away from the car, when you get a closer look you can see that the paintwork has deteriorated and has many cracks mainly on the trunk lid, hood, and fenders. If it wasn't for the paint, I would have given this car a 9 out of 10, no questions! But look at the pictures and judge for yourself. All the chrome applications and moldings are in very good condition. All the rubbers on the doors, trunk lid and hood are in very good condition. All the glass and mirrors are in very good condition. Mechanically the car is sound. The 2.0L engine starts right up, idles smoothly and has plenty of power. We recently replaced the spark plugs and cables, as well as a new distributor cap. Also, an oil change was done. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all gears and the clutch feels very solid. The brakes and suspension are also in good condition.
