Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I am selling my 1993 BMW 325i 4-DR that I have been using mostly as a track car. This car has served as an excellent and very reliable track car, but I am getting out of the hobby so the car is going, along with several accompanying goods also available for sale. Note that this is a track car that was occasionally used on the street, mainly for driving to/from events. It does not have a headliner, A/C, a functioning radio (it is there as well as 2 speakers. Radio just needs to be wired up), no backseat, and the bulk of the original sound-deadening and trim panels have been removed to save weight. I would not recommend this as a daily driver, rather a car that you can legally drive to and from the track, or strip it out for Spec E36 or the like, and trailer it there. Here are the main points: Engine Original block and head M50 2.5L with VANOS Top-end rebuilt 60k miles ago including new exhaust valves and springs, head gasket, etc. K&N cone air intake UUC RSC36 cat-back exhaust system (2014) NOTE: This is not reflected in the pictures as it was a very recent addition. I can take pictures and post if desired. It looks and sounds much better than the old Magnaflow system that was on the car before. New high-flow catalyst from Turner Motorsport (2014) Jim Conforti ECU chip (pre-2010) Fuel injectors cleaned and balanced (2010) Bimmerworld performance/track engine mounts (2010) New radiator and hoses (2010) New alternator (2010) New P/S hoses (2010) New valve cover gasket (2010) Driveline Factory 3.15:1 limited slip differential Rogue Engineering short shift kit, UUC DSSR, delrin bushings New guibo and center support (2012) Urethane transmission mounts (2010) Solid rear diff bushings (2010) Body Cosmetically challenged. Original red paint is fading and there is some surface rust. It is a track car and, cosmetically, has been treated as such. Mechanically and electrically this car is solid as a rock, but a fresh paint job with some ///M racing stripes would do nicely. NOTE: The car does NOT have the rear spoiler from the Mid-Ohio picture. 218,000 miles on chassis Sparco EVO 2 driver’s seat with Schroth Profi II HANS 6-point camlock harness VAC motorsports seat installation bracket and seat belt adapter kit (maintains 3-point seat belts that fold away for track use) Corbeau Forza passenger seat with G-force 6-point camlock harness New front windshield and seal (2010) New rear windshield and seal (2011) 5-lb ABC fire-extinguisher mounted to passenger seat via VAC Motorsorts anti-sub mounting bar and Brey Krause fire extinguisher mount Performance Distributors Dyna-Batt lightweight racing battery and Russ Wiles mount box (2013) Kirk 4-point roll-bar with high-density roll-bar padding Carbon-fiber sunroof replacement panel A/C removed; heat works perfectly Suspension and Chassis: TC Kline Koni Yellow externally-adjustable shocks all-around and OE sport springs. New front strut mounts, uprated hard rubber rear shock mounts. Hotchkis Suspension front and rear swaybars (these are fantastic) BMW Motorsport cross-brace Bimmerworld engine under-tray 2003 E46 330ci quick-ratio steering rack VAC motorsports rear lower control arms Stainless steel brake lines Wheel set 1: original bottlecap 15-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires Wheel set 2: 1 set of Kosei K1 racing wheels, 17”; 1 set of Falken Azenis RT-615 tires, 5 track weekends on them Track prep work done at Bimmerworld (2010) Rear trailing arm pocket reinforcement Rear swaybar reinforcement Sandblast/powdercoated rear subframe Rear subframe reinforcement Urethane RTABs Urethane rear subframe bushings Front subframe reinforcement Front strut tower reinforcement E36 brake cooling kit Urethane offset front lower C/A bushings Replace differential seal, clean differential, replace fluid with Redline synthetic Additional Items with Car: Bentley manual In summary, this car is absolutely track-ready. All you would need to do is your normal trackday checklist (bleed brakes, check tires/fluids/etc) and hit the road. I have been meticulous in the reinforcing, building and maintaining of this car so that it would always be a reliable track vehicle. I have tabulated every modification, upgrade and repair I have made to the vehicle since purchasing it in early 2010. I currently have just over $22,000 invested in this vehicle, confirmed with records and receipts that will be provided to the owner. Much thought, research, hard work, money and time went into building a reliable, extremely fun-to-drive and turn-key track vehicle. If you want to avoid going the route of purchasing a used E36 street car and investing $5-10,000 (+ lots of time and self-work as well) in preparing it for track days or racing, this is a great option for you. I have had an E46 and Miata as a track car, and this E36 has been my favorite because of the perfect balance of power, handling, reliability, accessibility of parts and low cost of admission. It is a joy to drive on-track, neutral, flat and very grippy. The Hotchkis swaybars were an absolutely incredible improvement over stock. Between the suspension improvements and urethane/solid bushings, the responsiveness is just fantastic.
