This is a really RARE truck with a really neat history.It was originally owned by the owner of Skip's Union Service Station (Union 76) in Artesia California.What makes it rare is it is a factory F250 4X4 with the XLT Ranger package and automatic transmission.After purchase, the truck was taken to Dick Cepek's shop and modified for off road use.A front truss was added to the front axle ,dual front shocks,front brush guard,10" rims,dual side tanks,dealer installed AC,8 track stereo.The final price was $9600.00 in 1976. A very expensive truck at that time.The original owner used the truck for camping on the Baja peninsula and following the off road racing scene.He kept the truck for 18 years.Unfortunately, a contractor bought the truck and really worked it pretty hard,mainly damaging the original box inside beyond repair.I have replaced the box with another western box but it is off of a 2wd truck and will require the mounting brackets and bracing from the original bed be installed.I have all the original brackets from the original bed which will require welding onto the new bed.(It really is not that hard to do) Most of the mechanical has been gone through on the truck.The entire bendix power assist system is new,including the steering box and a NOS steering wheel.Transmission was rebuilt before I got the truck,and just recently had new seals installed.The Dana 60 rear is new including the positraction using all spicer parts.That alone was $3000.00.The engine is a rebuilt 390 with a solid lifter cam and headers,milodon 8 quart sump running a factory ford holley 600 on a performer intake.The tranny has a new 2500 stall converter installed.The truck does not have an exhaust system yet.I have the original engine to re-install with a brand new set of heads included with the truck.There are a lot of NOS parts included.Such as ,wheel well trim ,headliner,front hubs,interior hood release,like new rear factory sliding window,and a lot more.Some of the bad parts of the truck besides the bed mount changing includes a cracked windshield,( a good windshield is included), some surface rust ,needs a tailgate,current engine has a small coolant leak somewhere (probably needs a water pump) .All the off road parts it came with are included with the truck.
