Up for Auction is this one-of-a-kind 1966 Buick Skylark Convertible. Exterior Condition: This classic American car is a Prime Restoration Candidate: It has light body rust and some rust on the floor pans and frame, but is still very solid. It has been repainted with an eye-catching, super bright yellow, but there is some cracking. Also, there is some over spray and a few missed areas of paint. The 24" Velocity VW 750 Chrome Wheels are very shiny, and the detail put into the custom painting of the inlay on the rim is fantastic, truly one-of-a-kind! They are wrapped in 255/30ZR24 tires that have a decent amount of tread, other than the passenger front. The windshield and rear window are both in excellent condition, having no chips, cracks, or rips. The convertible top has no major rips or repairs, but it starting to fray around the passenger rear windows. This car is also equipped with a working Avital alarm system, which is completely wired and in working condition, with working door locks, but the trunk pop on the remote does not work. Interior Condition: The interior of this car is fully customized, and looks great! It has a one-of-a-kind custom dash, and center console. The dash is custom painted to match the exterior of the car, and it matches very well. The previous owner even went as far as adding a "custom" badge set in the center of the dash, truly custom! There is a functioning tachometer installed on the steering column, with a very clear display, which gives this car a true muscle car feel! The center console is also painted to match the exterior, but the color is a little off. The aftermarket Kenwood radio and CD player are set in the center console, and also the aftermarket speakers are set into the side of the console, which sound very good and produce very high quality sound. This car is also wired for a sound system, with all of the necessary cables and wires in the trunk, but the current amp and subwoofers are not working. The rear seat is a very comfortable bench seat, and is wrapped in leather, the front has extremely comfortable bucket seats. There is a set of rubber floor mats for the front, which have yellow on them and accent the car very well. The front windows go up and down smoothly. Drive Train Condition: This is where this vehicle REALLY shines. It has a small block V-8 that is in extraordinary condition. It starts right up every time. This engine puts out great power and runs very smoothly, with no ticks, knocks, or rattles. The already powerful engine is equipped with an aftermarket Edlebrock 2 Barrel Carburetor, Edlebrock Performer Intake, Headers, and a newer radiator. The original valve covers have also been replaced with very shiny stainless steel valve covers. This engine sounds even better than it looks, and has a very deep rumble that a big v-8 should. The dual exhaust is complete with headers, which do have some rust, and is ran back behind the rear tires. The transmission is just as smooth as the engine, and shifts through gears very smoothly without any hesitation or jerking.Operating Condition: This vehicle does need some minor repairs. Most of the gauges do not work, including the speedometer and odometer. The high-beam headlights are working, but the low-beams are not. Both brake lights do not work, and the left rear blinker does not work. The windshield wipers do not function. Both rear windows are off of their track, but they do go up and down with some effort. Also, the hood pop lever is a bit stiff, but still opens the hood. The springs that hold the hood up are missing, and the hinges are loose, but the hood still goes up and down without a problem. There is a little play in the steering, but the car still drives straight. The outside passenger door handle is loose, but still opens the door properly, and the inside arm rest is missing. Despite all of these minor problems, the car still runs very strong, shifts smoothly, and drives well.
