Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 UPDATED. Yes, it runs! Links to videos can be found below. Here is a video of the car running: http://youtu.be/j50JEZOE3aE and a video of the engine start: http://youtu.be/xm5ESTpM5Ks This 1986.5 Porsche 928 has had the engine replaced with a GM ZZ4 Crate Engine using a Renegade Hybrids kit and was my daily driver for several years until my circumstances changed such that I had to drive over 100 miles per day. The motivation for the swap was that I felt that the original engine was a bit anemic (no offense to the purists out there) and far too expensive to maintain and repair. Parts for the ZZ4 can be bought at any parts store and are much more reasonably priced. I parked it about two years ago and switched to a more fuel efficient car. This Porsche was getting around 16 or 18 MPG. Most everything worked when the vehicle was parked: Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Seats, CD Player (although one side would occasionally go out because of a poor connection in the harness), all the gauges work: Speed, Tach, Oil Pressure, Temp, Fuel and Geer Selection ("D" does not light up, which is pretty typical on this model and is a relatively easy fix). Steering is very responsive and the suspension is also in good shape. The sunroof was seldom used and overtime started to bind so it will most likely need to be lubed or fixed. Engine accessories are all readily available GM parts such as alternator, AC Compressor and Power Steering pump. The engine is fueled by an Edelbrock Carb utilizing the factory fuel return; this means that when the air conditioner on the fuel that is returned to the tank is cooled (a 928 standard feature). The car set a long time and only started occasionally to ensure that nothing was seized up so the fuel will probably need to be flushed and replaced. I would assume that the carb will need to be cleaned. I had to pour fresh gas in the carb bowls to get it to start. The battery is also dead. Exterior Condition: Both the passenger side front fender and driver side rear fender had parking lot dings that were fixed and are in primer. There is also a spot on the rear bumper where the paint started to delaminate. Other than that her body is very straight. I've always liked the looks of 928s so I've kept it looking original. It does have European H4 Headlights! Interior Condition: I've seen 2 and 3 year old cars in worth shape than this one. When I got the car it had a cracked dash so the dash was stripped and redone. The leather is in good shape with a few scratches here and there but is otherwise in great shape. Interior Features: Power Windows Power Seats Leather Blaupunkt CD Player This car is a lot of fun to drive- ZZ4s put out in the neighborhood of 350HP. The transmission shifts smoothly although it did have a whine, most likely related to a torque tube that was replaced with aftermarket bearings but I could be wrong. It's possible that it can be driven away with a new battery and fresh fuel but considering how long it set as well as it’s age I would recommend that it's towed away and properly serviced first. What I would do is: Tow it home or to a shop, Change Oil, Flush out the old fuel, get a new battery and start enjoying. After I watched the video I realized that one of the break lights is out too. It's hard to think of everything at once when it comes to this car so please ask questions, I'll try to answer them all. Please note: I do not know what the true miles are on this car. I've entered 100K because eBay requires that mileage is listed and my guess is that it's well under 100K miles.
