For Sale is a super clean 5 speed Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. This car was owned by a good friend of mine and sat for the last 4 years. He recently took a new job in the DC area and sold the car to me as a car that I could easily fix and get back on the road as a multi-weekend project. Over the past 3 months, I have many hours into it and have gone over and replaced everything critical in order to make it road worthy and one that the new owner would be proud to drive and own. I've driven the Eclipse almost 2000 miles since I have had it- Most on long trips to Chicago or Indianapolis. If I could somehow fit my whole family in it and teach my wife to drive a 5 speed, I would keep it! It easily gets 28-29 MPG and is a blast to drive. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. You will be hard pressed to find a car like it that is this reliable for around $5,000. Dealers are easily charging more plus local sales tax and their dealer fees. Buy from me and save some cash for other important things in life! Condition wise, the car is not perfect but it is really close to being a time capsule. The tan leather interior is in nice shape and the carpets are super clean and smoke free. Only simple bolt on modifications- Aftermarket Projector Style Headlights, Cold Air intake, Bluetooth Handsfree Kenwood CD Deck and exhaust otherwise the car is stock. Here is a list of things that I have done to the car: 1) 4 new tires- Kumho Ecsta PA31 all season tires- $600 installed Old ones had flat spots from sitting for 4 years 2) new rotors and ceramic pads on all 4 corners- $2503) new alternator and 7 year battery- $200 alternator has a lifetime warranty from Oreilly's4) new windshield- original one had a minor leak due to it delaminating and would only leak when driving in heavy rain. 5) new interior dimmer switch- $206) new hatch lift struts- $357) recent oil change with Mobil 1 Synthetic- $358) New Kenwood Excelon CD Deck with Handsfree Cell phone (law in Illinois) from Crutchfield- $129.999) New Wiper Blades10) New Taillights and bulbs- $100 OEM Mitsubishi, not some cheap aftermarket11) Headlights restored (I have the originals in a box- currently has projector style aftermarket on them- these look really cool!)12) Sunroof repaired- new seals and adjusted to close properly with help from local body shop- doesn't leak a drop of water!- all drains cleaned 13) fresh detail on the paint- paint sealant applied- No Rust or swirl marks on the body of this car! 14) AC Compressor replaced and freon added on July 24th 15) Coolant Flushed 16) 2 New Drive Belts installed when AC Compressor was replaced 17) Clutch has about 15K on it and was replaced by the previous owner. I have a lot of paperwork detailing these expenses along with previous owner info, owner's manuals and both sets of keys and working key fobs The car has an Injen Cold Air Intake. I took the K&N air filter off and cleaned and re-oiled it. It is good to go. Also the car has had some exhaust work done to it. It sounds really nice but is not too loud to annoy the neighbors and the passengers inside. No fluid leaks of any kind. It parks in my newer driveway and never drips anything. Now for the minor things- 4-5 very small dings. Most are so small you wont notice them. Does have minor road rash from normal driving on the hood. Easily fixed with Dr Colorchip or touch-up. The rear spoiler is faded on top- clear is peeling and will need repainted for the car to be perfect (most people think the spoiler is Plasti-Dipped!), Inside Rear hatch area has some minor marks in the plastic from hauling gear. The rear bumper is perfect- no marks or scratches in the paint. Also all Eclipses are known for the plastic dash to crack. Unfortunately this is true with this one. You can buy a custom fit dash cover or put a custom rug over it for $50 to $100 on ebay. You have to look hard to see the cracks. To me it really isn't a big deal. There is no doubt this Eclipse was cared for and not ragged on by a teenager. However the car is sold without any warranty in other words it is sold "As - Is" I encourage test drives and inspections in person for those who have funds arranged.
