The Pontiac Transam 455 Super Duty was one of the most powerful Transams that Pontiac every built. The style of the car and the power in which the models had was the inspiration for the tribute. The chassis is a 1973 Pontiac Firebird from the factory and the engine is a factory 73 date code Pontiac 455 which has been completely rebuilt. .020 on the mains, .040 on the rods, bored 30 over. New Mutha Thumpr cam (intake lift .479, ex. lift .465, adv duration 279 297,duration @ .050 227 241, lobe separation angle 107) new pistons, valves, rings, lifters, all mechanical components to include oil pump, fuel pump, water pump, hoses, belts, plugs, plug wires and all. All that can be said about the motor and tranny in the car that makes an ultimate bad to the bone driver is that it is an unbelievably impressive car that can grab a bark in all four gears. There has never been a factory built car with this much torque and energy nor will there ever be another tribute car that can offer such an incredible display of power, performance, handling (will every single piece under the car being replaced and beefed up), the sound of the motor with the new exhaust system flowmasters with 2.5" pipes, having the newly built factory air conditioning system that blows AC colder than it ever did the day the car was born, and on and on and on.
