This is THE HOLY GRAIL of Chevy P10's. If you are looking for a fixer upper...move along. If you want something that has been modified...this one is not for you. If you're looking for something with “Patina” keep looking. If you are looking for a fully restored P10...sorry this isn't it. If you ARE looking for the finest example of a factory original, unmolested, true survivor, unrestored, ultra low original mileage, immaculate Chevy P10 “Shorty” Step Van ….well you have just found what you are looking for. This is not some worn out used up delivery van that was rode hard and put away wet! Was it owned by a little old lady from Pasadena that only drove it to church on Sunday? NO...even better!!! It was owned and cared for by the Medina TN. Fire Dept. since it was purchased new in 1968 and it was always garaged, polished and meticulously maintained everyday of it's entire life! This vehicle was quite literally only driven for emergencies! This P10 has only 74,6XX original miles! That means it was driven an average of far less than 2000 miles a year! Everything on this van is original and it runs perfect. It was DRIVEN from Tennessee to Pennsylvania less than 4 months ago! The paint is glossy and it is completely rust free. I'm not 100% sure if it has been repainted by the fire department over the years but my guess is that it has based on the sticker stating "Paint Provided By Medina Lions Club" It has a straight 6 cylinder, 250 cu. in. Engine with a 3 speed manual transmission on the column. Everything works as it should, Steering is tight, clutch is solid, shifts flawlessly, ALL lights, gauges, horn, windshield wipers, heater, fans, defroster etc etc work perfect right down to the license plate lights. Both sliding doors open and close easily with 1 finger! All 4 coil springs were replaced within the last few years and the suspension feels great. The driver's seat was in bad shape so I had it reupholstered last week. It also has the rare factory optional passenger seat and "Piano Hinge" style rear doors (not the ugly external barn door hinges commonly found on these vans) Place your winning bid and drive it home! By the way....the fire department installed siren still works although I don't recommend turning it on and running any red lights!
