She has a Brand New Cosmetic Restoration as detailed below & Above + Almost New "High Quality" Front & Back Tires, & "Believe it or not her Seat & Seat Cover I believe is her Original 1978 SUZUKI Item" !!! it has minor RM letter touch ups and a ~small slight repair on the bottom edge on one side.... I believe the chassis of a RM 250's and the RM 400's are basically the same bike ! It's Front & Rear Fenders and Side number Panels are on Good Shape and like her beautiful Fuel Tank have been beautifully refinished and as you can see Look Great ! & Yes, She has what looks to be her Original stock Original SUZUKI 1978 Gas Tank etc with New Original style 1978 Graphics !!!! Upgraded Twin Rear Shocks My Mechanic and I flushed out the Fuel Tank, Carburetor & Fuel lines & the entire Fuel System & added a Brand New in line Gas Filter & Brand New "UNI" Upgrade Sock style Air Cleaner....( & when we put new gas in her ...She Started Right Back UP ...WOW ! ! ! ) ...So this baby is Ready to Go have some Fun with ! Booth At This Show Alone !!!! <> PLEASE NOTE:Above are 4 Pictures are "NOT" of this auctions bike but are of this bikes 2 cousins (IE) (one =this auction's bikes Twin 1978 RM 250 Brother) (IE) as above we also built these two other bikes we also built & cosmetically restored our other Vintage Racing: the (Yellow) 1978 SUZUKI RM 250's & the (Aluminum & Green) Vintage CR Elsinore 250 Vintage Race bike (Dec. 2013) we Displayed at the "WORLDS LARGEST" MOTORCYCLE SHOW" (the Cycle World / Progressive Motorcycle Show, (Los Angeles, California area)..in Our "Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Clubs" Booth earlier (December 7-8-9th 2013). Also, The White & Black Suzuki Road Racer at the end of he row next to our VJMC clubs sign (3 bikes to the right of our yellow 250 RM Suzuki)... was one of two bikes of it's Exact type in Existence (a 700ccSquare 4 "Two Stroke" w/ 4 Rotary Valves..Yep ! She is a BREAST ! ) and I was told by most everyone there that she was Pretty much "Priceless" ! The two Bikes in between ours & this were two 4 Cylinder "Two Stroke" YAMAHA a GP 500 & a GP 700 like my Hero the GREAT Kenny Roberts became a WORLD CHAMPION on !!! Paper Work: Around here (In Southern California) ownership transfer of a Vintage Racing Bike is handed by "Bill of Sale" from one owner to the next owner here in California with Dirt Racing bikes that are used on Private etc Dirt Bike Moto Cross Tracks, Vintage Bike Shows etc, etc. . This has been in Dry Covered Storage for many years (Aprox 2-3 Decades) here in Southern Calif.. & being a Vintage Dirt Racing bike I do not believe this bike has ever been registered here in California..I have the State of California DMV Computer Print out of the History of this Wonderful Bike and as Predicted She is 100% "Free and Clear" and She has "NO Back Fees" and "NO Back Taxes" etc etc.. on her since she has been in storage for so long & is currently 100% Off the California DMV Computer records at this time..Again, I will be Glad to Provide the DMV Print out on this wonderful Vintage RAcing Bike & also, a California DMV (CALIFORNIA Department of Motor Vehicles) "NOTARIZED".. "Bill Of Sale"to the New Owner of this Wonderful Vintage Racing Bike. I purchased this well over three years ago & I still have the Bill of sale I received from the prior owner. AGAIN, Since this is a Vintage Racing Bike & she is designed to race on Private Moto-Cross tracks etc...Typically with a True Vintage Race bike a Calif DMV Bill of Sale is what is expected with a True Race Bike like this .. as the Calif. DMV Computer Records also seem to indicate that being a True Race Bike no one prior to me has had it put into my name as again around here (In Calif) & again, Like most true racing Bikes & cars etc. ownership transfer is handed by "Bill of Sale" from one owner to the next owner here in California with Vintage Dirt Racing bikes that are used on Dirt Bike Moto-Cross Tracks etc. . This has been in Dry Covered storage for many (~20 to 30 ) years & being a Vintage Dirt Racing bike I believe this has never been in the California DMV System & Therefore, I do not believe this has ever been registered here in California & with her 100% CLEAR DMV Print out She will NOT have any back fees or taxes etc etc because of this..... "These Bikes are GREAT for Vintage Racing ! & Quite Possibly one of the Very Most FUN & RELIABLE Bikes I have Ever ridden in the past FIVE decades Since the late 1950's !" Most everyone I have talked with agrees these SUZUKI RM 400 CC have hands down Always been considered one of the Worlds BEST Production Dirt / Racing bikes & SUZUKI has Long Been known for their GREAT HANDLING, Super Quick TURNING ABILITY, Solid "BULLET PROOF" Construction, AMAZING Performance , Durability + Trouble Free, Reliability. The RM 400CC SUZUKI's are probably one of the Easiest & Best balanced and Predictable Truly VINTAGE Race-able bikes to Ride & I also think one of the Most Most Rider Friendly & Competitive Dirt Racing Bikes Made in this Era !!! & this 1978 is BY FAR one of the Most Evolved Early Successful Dirt Racing Bikes as it has all of the Most sought after Goodies (Self Tuning Reed Valve Inductions System, For the First time "BULLET PROOF" Super Strong + Great Handling "Big Travel" Forks & "HUGE " Travel Travel Rear Shock with it's Factory SUZUKI Heat Treated Aluminum "Super Strong" ALLOY Rear Swing arm Suspension ("in 1978 All of this was "ROCKET SCIENCE" that "Really Worked GREAT " ! ! ! ), Very Simple less hassle far more Reliable More Trouble Free Air Cooled (FAR Better than the early water cooled SUZUKIs Etc ..I have heard) (this being one of the last years of these Very Perfected (by 1978) RM 400cc (These SUPER SIMPLE Air Cooled Super Competitive TWO STROKE" ) engines ( Factory SUZUKI RM 400 Tuned MX Racing Chamber) Tuned Pipe , Factory Big Cooling HEAD & All of this & Being SOOooo Perfected... RM 400s still have their nice and (relatively) fairly Low to the Ground (Way less Scary for Newer Riders) and because of their Nice Low height She will even fit in right into my Chevy ASTRO "Mini Van" even with the vans center seat still in place !!!! How many "FULL SIZE * OPEN CLASS 400 CC DIRT RACING bikes can do that ! This AMAZING Bike Typically Starts Super Quick ! ..I believe this Has her original 1978 Factory seat & Seat Cover, and I think she has what looks to be her her Original SUZUKI Gas tank that still looks to in GREAT Condition with a Brand New paint & SUZUKI Tank Graphic ! Again, Her Gas Tank has been Newly refinished & Painted as are the Front & Right & Left side Number panels and Both Front & Rear Fenders, also her rims, spokes, shocks, Wheel hubs & Backing plates etc etc have all also been refinished & or Painted and I think look very Nice. She has Two almost "New" High Quality Front and Back Tires !!!... YES ! the gas tank Graphics have been replaced with what looks to be ORIGINAL New Old Stock or Incredibly Accurate Graphics that look perfect to me to the 1978 Graphics that SUZUKI installed back when this bike was Brand New ! The inside of her tank is Clean looks GREAT.as do Her Handlebars, Pegs, Shifter, She has Brand New Fork Tube Rubber Boots & New Handlebar Grips !
