The S stands for Sport. The Sport first appeared in 1996 and was discontinued in 2003. They were made in limited production. From the factory this comes with fully adjustable front and rear suspension (note the piggy back rears). These are the only models that have these. This bike also has a factory custom paint job with the HD racing logo. Performance add ons: at 30k miles it underwent a top end job with a big bore 1250cc kit. Heads received an over haul to match. Andrews cams. S&S Carb with a Thunderjet kit (essentially make it a dual main jet carb, with the thunderjet capable of being changed out in less then a minute). Has a Barnett clutch kit. Dyna Programmable ignition with a Screamin Eagle CDI. Thunderheader exhaust. Done in the past few weeks to the tune of roughly a grand in parts and labor: Clubman racing cafe handlebars. Cafe mirrors. Barrell grips. New Bridgestone Spitfire Tires to which I then spent 4 hours dying the letters orange to match the tank (will not peel or flake). 250 miles on the tires since install. I also acid washed and bleached the mags back to new when the tires were off, and polished the outer edge. Re-polished all the aluminum. Installed a single center guage kit. Installed and wrinkle black painted the cafe fairing. I also removed and wrinkle blacked the fork lowers and ignition side cover. Smoked signal covers. All work done profesionally, and I still up to this writing, ride this bike daily. It will just about tear my arms off and I weigh 240 pounds. I couldnt imagine what a lightweight rider could do. It goes from zero to a hundred in "holy crap how am I at a hundred already" seconds. As far as evo Sporties go, no one in my area can touch this bike. It runs best on 110 octane high test which is what I use. But let it be known I do NOT beat this bike. I only let her loose when I need to let her loose. Im 43 and not a speed junky but I do like to have it when I need it. Bike was fine tuned and tested at the world famous Doc's Harley of Shawano in Wisconsin. This bike is beautiful. It will of course have a little blemishes, and a few splattered bugs here and there. I keep it covered in my climate controlled shop when not in use, and at least one night a week you can find me in the shop drinking cold beer and polishing anything I might have missed the last time I was drinkin cold beer and polishing the bike ha !
