Up for sale is a very nice 1980 CBX 1000 Super Sport. The bike has only 7900 original miles on it. The low VIN # is SC03-2000454 and the engine # is SCO3E-2000488. As you collectors know this is a matching numbers bike. The bike has been stored in a climate controlled garage most of it’s life as you can tell by the condition this bike is in. The bike is in VERY good condition cosmetically and mechanically. The gas tank has no dents or dings and the tailfin has NO cracks as most of them do have. The tank is clean and rust free inside. There were some scratches on the tank so I decided to get it painted by a professional and he did a great job! The tank, side covers, front fender and the tailfin have new paint on them and are flawless. The left side sidecover has a repaired bottom tab and it works as the other tabs do. The frame is untouched and is original paint. The engine also has the original paint and it looks great. The pipes are original and are in VERY GOOD condition. The pipe number that is stamped on the pipe is SANKEI # HM 469. These pipes are flawless. The only scuffs is where you put your foot to ride the bike. No rust anywhere on these pipes. I believe that is all due to the environment that this great bike was stored in. There is no discoloration on the head pipes also. The turn signals are not cracked at the base as most of them are. They are original and have the STANLEY name on them.All electrical is in great shape and has not been cut or altered. Front and rear brakes both work as they should. The gauges are still bright orange color and have never been reconditioned and all work great. This is a VERY nice condition bike and is fully functional. I rode it today for 50 miles and it runs great. It idles at 900 RPM and purrs like a kitten. There are no oil leaks or unusual noises. As all of these CBX’S have it has the normal clutch rattle. All the original stickers are in place on the frame and the chain guard. This comes with the original manual and pouch. I also have the original toolkit that goes with it. There are not many of these bikes left in this condition.
