Vehicle Detail
An original from the Japan factory and sold in the USA model 1986 ISUZU TROOPER II (2) DELUXE, 4 DOOR, C223T 2.2L TURBO DIESEL!This is the most rare of them all and in near mint shape! EVERYTHING WORKS! Even the A/C system, including the high engine idle engagement. Yes - it has the gen 3 connecting rods and updated blowby tank. This is not a "butchered" truck with tons of non factory wiring hanging under the dash and draped over the engine bay or some sort of engine transplant. I purchased this truck 6 years ago as a project: Had a loose crankshaft pulley. The pulley was wobbling and damaged the woodruff key and the snout of the crankshaft.Engine was removed and fully rebuilt. Crankshaft was removed, welded, ground and polished. Also done at the same time in 2008 at 162,786 miles: Piston rings, connecting rod bushings, connecting rod pins, full gasket sets, bearings, all hoses, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap, heater core, timing belt, throttle cable, clutch, clutch cable, wheel cylinders, leaf spring bump stops and all leaf spring bushings. All these parts used are genuine Isuzu! Auto parts from the local store: front brake pads, rotors, rear brake shoes. All fluids and filters done. The engine has not been " turned up " and not blowing all sorts of excessive smoke. ( When was the last time you saw a C223T engine that was not pouring oil from the front and rear crankshaft seals??? This baby is dry! If you know these engines you can really appreciate this! ) It even has all the stock under hood and firewall insulation.Non stock items done to vehicle: Mercedes-Benz in line fuel pre-filter, used before the sock Isuzu fuel filter. Sony AM/FM/CD player. Drivers floor mat. (Other 3 floor mats are still the original carpeted embroidered ones). Superwinch 100% dependable manual 4x4 front locking hubs. Straight through exhaust resonator, replacing the known restrictive gas/diesel muffler that shares the same part number from Isuzu. This truck spent most of its life in the winter free North Carolina. It has never see a north east winter with me, its stored in a heated garage all winter. The frame was treated externally with Chassis Saver and Eastwood internal frame coating. Wurth protective wax was used on the in and out on the frame, cross frame, radiator support, rocker panels, inside all doors, fenders, hood, brake lines, fuel lines and body seams.Body and frame is solid! No rot! No holes! Dry floors. Someone in the past gave this truck the "LS trim" treatment. The front bumper, steering wheel and 4 alloy wheels are from the LS trim package. I'm including the stock steering wheel. The exterior lower part is now coated with Rhino Linings- done at a dealer. Some fool tried to cheaply glue on "LS" rocker moulding. They were half missing and ripped off part of the paint. This was my solution. The spare is original-rim and tire, great shape. Has new "Isuzu Trooper II" and Turbo D decals! Front end had all ball joints replaced, full alignment done, with shims. It is dead on perfect.A/C system is using 134a refrigerant. I used only Isuzu oil and fuel filters. I will include: 2 keys, owners manual, extra steering wheel, spare tire cover, Sony radio box, auto 4x4 hubs and left rear axle bearing seal.Has only run diesel, never veggie oil. But you can do that if you wish.I have tried my best to list all I can think of and know about this wonderful truck. This vehicle is my pride and joy, unfortunately it has to go. PLEASE- serious bidders only!I will try to answer your questions best I can.Payment must clear before vehicle is collected! No warranties or guarantees. Sold as is where is. Check my feedback you will be happy. SEE the pics And look at youtube and search the title below. Roof had some work prior work done: repainted, dent repair, seam sealer showing in rain gutters, some dents on rain gutters at the back. Minor leaks: Manual transmission and steering box. Right front CV boot is ripped. Joint is fine and lubricated / re-greased every oil change. Left rear brake backing plate had a minor gear oil leak. Permatex spray-n-seal-leak repair was done, now not leaking but looks glossy.Drivers seat has minor wear on top cushion, vinyl trim on side has rip.Rear seat has some stains on it.Included spare tire cover needs to have elastic band sown back into the cover. Tires are old, some cracking. And wrong size- 235/75-16. They might rub slightly if turned to full lock. There is a slight " whine " around 60 mph, it goes away if you coast/lift your foot from the throttle. Might be the left rear axle bearing. It has never changed/got worse in the years I have owned it. Stock speakers blown.”VIN (Vehicle Identification Number):JAACH18U3G5433092Year:1986Transmission:ManualMake:IsuzuBody Type:SUVModel:TrooperCab Type (For Trucks Only):4 DOORTrim:DeluxeVehicle Title:ClearEngine:2.2 TURBO DIESEL C223-TOptions:4-Wheel Drive, CD PlayerDrive Type:4X4Power Options:Air ConditioningMileage:178,216Fuel Type:DieselExterior Color:RedFor Sale By:Private SellerInterior Color:TanWarranty:Vehicle does NOT have an existing warrantyNumber of Cylinders:4On Aug-01-14 at 09:48:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello- The 4 tires are old, tread is still above the minimum, but are showing cracks. So I would change them if your driving this vehicle full time. One good thing about the old tires is you can see the tread is wearing evenly, showing the alignment is perfect. The "leaks" I mentioned for the transmission and steering box are more like "seepage" or "weep". The fluid check is always good and its not pouring out. Just hanging drips. Personally I would not do anything about them. I don't want to scare anyone away from the truck , I'm just trying to be forthright and point out all the details. These are some small flaws and the vehicle is not brand new by any means. This should not give anyone serious contemplation on this unique quality vehicle. Thank you.
