For sale my 1981 Honda XL500S Dual-Sport. It has 2,113 miles on it. I bought this bike a few years ago and unfortunately did not get to ride it as much as I would have liked and I am now trying to sell off some things and clear out my garage. There is NOTHING wrong with this bike and it works very well. After buying this bike I added these accessories: New battery (this week), new seat cover (has the Honda name on it), new grips, new Acerbis hand guards, new foldaway mirrors, and new front and rear knobby street-legal tires. The white Acerbis front and rear fenders were already on the bike when I bought it. This bike, as I said is in perfect working condition. It does have marks and nicks from being both a 1981 model and from being ridden off-road, but there are no known defects. It is of course being sold in "as is" condition, with no express or implied warranties. I am attaching as many photos as eBay will allow, but if you do want to see another view that is not included then please let me know and I will be glad to email them to you. This bike has a lot of low-end torque. It is a thumper with a lot of power. I am 6'4" and 260 lbs. and this bike has NO trouble carrying me over the biggest of hills. This bike has a manual compression release (right by the clutch handle), used for starting. If you are not familiar with this, all it is really is a manual way to turn the crank over top dead center just a hair to make starting easier. It is very easy to do and works every time. This bike starts on the first or second kick every time. If you have any questions about this bike, please let me know. I have set a low reserve for this bike, which is well below what I paid (not even including the new equipment that I added).
