Re-listing due to time wasters. This Mercedes 280 SEL has been a great daily driver for the last 15 months here in sunny California. The SEL is the much sought after long wheelbase version of the SE. These were only available in the USA between 1971 and 1973 in the 4.5 Ltr version. Condition The car is in great overall condition. The Engine: Uses zero oil and drives great. The only issues perceived is an occasional idle drop during warm up (probably needs the WUR cleaning)The transmission: Is wonderful and does not show any signs of wear. There are a few drips from the transmission pan gasket and the joint between the engine and Gearbox.The AC: Is not functional.Heater: Works well with no issues with the controls.Interior Condition: The seats and door cards are mismatched mbtek (red and black, see pictures).The rear seat has 2 minor rips and the front seats are missing 2 chrome caps. The headliner has a bent retaining bow. The sunroof headliner is coming away at the rear opening.Body: 2 external rust areas displayed in the pictures. The underside is very original as shown by the pictures . There are some minor dents on the body as displayed in the pictures.Brakes: Good with no issuesShocks: The car could do with new shocks.Windows: All electric windows work however the passenger side actuator is slipping.Mileage: 26000 on a 5 digit odometer….therefore who knows..HistoryPurchased from the previous owner here in the South Bay. Maintenance completed (by me)Since owning this wonderful car I have replace the following:1. New Power steering pump and hoses. . .this is the expensive and common one! 2. New Fuel lines to the tank.3. New Battery4. New trunk seal5. New coil and ignition module.6. New rear seat belts.
