Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a very rare 1965 Fiat 1500 Cabriolet "garage find" example. This rare example is a Pinin Farina designed vehicle with styling cues that can be found on Ferrari's, Alfa's and other Italian marques of the same time period. The egg crate grill can be found on Ferrari models of the '60's and the interior has many similarities to my Alfa Giulia Spider including the seats and dash layout. Being offered at "No Reserve". Will need full restoration. Vin #: 039439 Engine : 1500cc Color: Red Clear "Michigan" Title Mileage: 26,469 (believed to be original) I will be adding more pictures within the next few days. The Fiat has been garage stored for many years, and has recently been brought of out storage. It is in running condition but will need restoration. Under the hood the "Fiat" looks all original as it left the factory. The 1500 engine starts easily, but is running rough and will probably need some carburetor work. There was some brake work done on the Fiat which included some new brake lines and stainless steel brake hoses, the pedal goes to the floor, but it will stop the car. The brakes are dragging as well. Electricals seem to be in order, with wipers, heater motor & interior light in working condition. No issues with the charging system or starter motor. Clutch seems fine, and transmission goes into all gears without any issues. Rear end does have a leak. Includes a full set of factory keys - with working gas door lid and glove box lock. The interior is in excellent condition as shown in the pictures. Both of the original seats are in excellent condition. Door panels in good shape. Dash is in good condition as shown in the pictures. All gauges in good condition. Carpet in nice shape as well. Jump seat area is tidy as shown in the pictures. Has newer vinyl convertible top with top frame that is in good working order. Also included is a near new convertible top cover. Based on the interior condition it does look like a very low miles car. The body looks to be in solid condition, however there are old repairs that were not done correctly. The body/undercarriage will need to be restored. The rocker panels were not done correctly as shown in the pictures - there is evidence of pop rivets in the rocker panelS. The floors have some interesting patch work as shown in the pictures. There is also evidence of repairs in the rear wheel wells as noted in the trunk pictures. Also, at some point there was foam sprayed in the trunk quarter panels in trunk pictures as well. There are other patches as well, and obviously not done correctly. There has also been work done to the wheel arches in that they have been extended as noted in the pictures. Spare tire well in good condition. Despite the patch work, the panel fit is good. Chrome is in good condition including the windshield surround. Has original wheels with some old "Michelin" metric tires. Car is essentially all complete with the exception of the rocker panel trim pieces. Bumpers front and rear and grill all in good condition. The Fiat is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied. I cannot be held responsible for any errors or inaccuracies that may have been inadvertently been provided. Please have your finds in order prior to bidding. Shipping is up to the buyer to arrange. As stated, the "Fiat" represents a wonderful opportunity for the Italian car enthusiast that is looking for a solid restoration project at an affordable price. Comes with a clear "open" Michigan title. Sold in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied. I have done my best to describe the Fiat to the best of my ability, however there may be some things that I may have missed. It is up to the buyer to do due diligence when making a purchase online.
