Re-listing due to lowered reserve. Completely restored, original, 1949 Ford. This body on restoration has been complete for about 6 months. It has been driven approximately about 100 miles just to get the bugs out. Mileage is stated in ad as 100, but the car had around 30,000 miles on it prior to restoration. Body was good prior to restoration, and is now great. Hours of time was spent making all the metal on this car straight and perfect. Many hours spent sanding primer to find all of the low/high spots and everything fixed to make the body panels look and feel like glass. Paint is great as well..... with several 2 coats of clear. Brand new correct upholstery, engine has been completely rebuilt, new exhaust, new tires with original rims, brand new wiring system throughout the entire car. Bumpers completely rechromed along with much of the trim. Transmission was taken to a specialty trans shop, and had a thorough going-thru. Shifts very smooth. Almost the entire car has been restored sans a few areas. The dash was too good to mess with so it was left alone. The insides of the doors were not repainted so they remain grey, so very minor wear can be seen on the pictures where the driver and passenger would normally rest their arms when riding in the car. I have over $16K invested into this car, so no expense has been spared. I am anxious to sell this car as it is just sitting in a storage locker while I pay monthly fees on it. We restored the car for my Dad to drive, but things don't always go as planned. He is 92 and still going strong, but can't drive the car for very long without power steering/power brakes, so that is the reason for selling the car. It can be driven anywhere, but probably needs a bit of a carburetor adjustment at the moment as it may be running a tad rich. It was taken to several shows and Cruise's a few weeks ago, and performed flawlessly. The car is currently in Eastern Iowa...(Clinton). The reserve has been lowered on this car as I am serious about selling it. The reserve is now significantly under $10K, so you are getting a great deal on a shoebox Ford if you have always wanted one. Please see the pics and email me with any questions you might have.
