Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1969 Triumph Trophy that is in very good condtion. It is not mint or perfect but is very nice for being 45 years old. I will try to describe the bike as best I can. Certainly, email me with any questions and I will get back to you. If you wish you can send me your phone # if you want to talk in person about it and I will get back to you when I can. Take at look at my feedback. I live by integrety and am not out to rip anyone off. So here's the details I picked up this bike in April of this year from a guy that is in his 60's. He bought the bike in 2007 at auction in Mpls, MN and paid $3700 then. He showed me the reciept. It was an impulse buy because he always wanted one. The bike was a complete restoration and at that time, I believe a new speedo was installed. The previous owner only drove it about 15 miles and put it into storage. I went through the carb and fuel system. Cleaned and professionally lined with a clear coat on the inside of the gas tank (see pics). Installed a new battery. Now the bike usually starts on the 1st kick (with some practice of course). I have put aprox 15 miles on this bike the last couple of weeks. I have had it up to 55mph down the highway. It will go faster but that what the speed limit was on the road I was on. So the previous owner put 15 miles (in 2007) on the bike and I put 15 miles on the bike (last couple of weeks). That is why the speedo reads 30 miles (when the pics were taken). Note: I am fairly certain that 30 miles is not the only miles ever put on the bike but I have no way of knowing what the original miles is. The bike will be started and driven periodically throughout the auction so the actual miles may increase slightly. Currently has Aprox 35 miles on the bike. The tires were installed new with the restoration project but have some minor weather checking on the side walls from sitting. The seat is near perfect. See pics The muffler is very nice. See pics The paint in fairly nice, but has some nicks and scratches from handling, etc. See pics Chain and sprocket are obviously good. Lights all work great. Fork boots are perfect. See pics This is the only triumph I have ever owned, so I am not certain but to me it seams like the throttle cable and front brake cables are stretched. They are OK to use and work fine, but I am used to the newer stuff with tighter control. This bike is aqward to drive at first since the foot brake and shifter are reversed, but after a few rides with it I quickly became used to it. No problems now. The foot pegs rubbers and kick start rubbers are a little dried out from age. The kick start rubber actually has a little piece missing from it. I think I covered all the details. Let me know if you would any more info. **Important** Make sure that you check into shipping costs before you purchase or bid on this bike. I live a residential area, but am willing to deliver the bike to 5 mile radius if you have a shipping company/Truck pick the bike up. Your shipper must be able to accomodate my work schedule. Usually 7am to 6pm weekdays. $250 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end and full payment is due within 7 days of auction end. I can store the bike for up to one month after the auction ends to allow time for pickup. After 30 days a fee of $2 per day will be charged. Finally, The bike is for sale locally so there is a chance the auction may end early if the right deal comes along.
