Vehicle Detail
Thank you for checking out my auction on this beautiful 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe. This first generation model is becoming harder and harder to find especially in such great condition. It’s been a wonderful car to own but I've lost the garage I was renting space in and don’t have enough room in the new place so it’s time to let her go. This stunning, elegant & sporty Cadillac was purchased in 2011 with the intention of driving something dependable in the Great Race 2013. This series of Cadillac is so popular with CCCA, AACA, and Cadillac owners but if you’re interested in this car, you already know of all this! However I quickly realized it would be nuts to take such a rare and flawless vehicle and drive it in a road rally so I left the Cadillac at home and took my Ford Thunderbird instead. It runs like a bat out of ...........Detroit, and is a delight on the interstate, downtown Charleston, or just a regular road trip. First, Yes........I know the wire wheels are not correct to the year, but #$%$##^% they look great! The original rims, hubcaps, skirts, and rayon tires are all here (see pictures below). The tires on the wire wheels are radial and make for a smooth ride. The car is a West Coast car and the condition shows that. The body is rust free. Period. The original body panels have that great metal "curl" under the fenders and other panels that are as crisp as new. The chrome was all re-plated or polished out. The paint is brilliant, polished black. Maybe two minor door dings that are hand touch up. Otherwise it’s stunning. Inside, the leather interior is believed to be the correct shade and is magnificent. Panels, stitching and application are very handsome. The door panels are also leather and the headliner is original and in very nice condition. The car is all fresh and repaired where needed. The wiring is original but all in place and everything works as it should (overhead light bulb needs replacing). There is an auxiliary fuel pump that makes for a quick start which is then cut off. After a 10 second idle, it settles down to an inaudible purr. Originally it was ordered with fog lamps, heater, leather, Series 62, pin stripe, and radio. Not being sure, but I think that is almost all the features you could get. (Correct me, fellow CCCA members)! I was recently offered a ‘41 convertible and with the warm weather hitting us now and my ambitions of driving in future CCCA tours on the brain, the temptation of owning the convertible is too much to pass up. Unfortunately I don’t have the space in the new garage for both the convertible and coupe so it’s time for this sexy, fast, Deco Cadillac to find a new home! If you have any questions, the easiest way to get a hold of me is a phone call, so please feel free to give me (Merrill) a ring before 9pm EST at 843-452-5600. $500 Paypal deposit required within 24 hours. GOOD LUCK! (86 pictures of the beautiful car are below! Be patient and let them load. Click the thumbnails below to view the full size image) Thanks for looking!
