Hello. I have a 2004 VW Passat with only 85000 miles for sale. I bought this vehicle in June of 2014 with a bad transmission. I purchased a good used transmission with only 93,000 miles on it and planned on swapping the transmissions. I no longer have the time to complete this project. I have been called out for work (traveling) and the wife and I have decided to put the house up for sale. Therefore, projects such as this one need to go. I simply don’t have the time to do the work on this car. The KBB is over $7,000 in fair condition and over $8,000 in excellent condition. Depending how much work you want to put in this vehicle you could make a decent profit or have a premium model passat for a fraction of the cost. The Good: The car has 85000 miles and the engine runs (although it could use a tune up…it sat for awhile as the previous owner decided what to do with the bad transmission). Anyway, it is the GLX 4-Motion (all wheel drive) model with the 2.8L V-6. The engine is rated at 190hp and 206lbs of torque and gets up to 28mpg. The GLX level is one of the premium levels of this sedan and includes lots of “options” including: Heated folding side-view door mirrors with turn signal indicator, power left side-view door mirror and power right side-view door mirror with tilt down, body-colored door handles, body-colored front and rear bumpers with body-colored rub strip, Chrome front bumper insert, chrome rear bumper insert, Rocker panel extensions, Chrome grille, Climatronic automatic air conditioning, 1st row express open/close sliding and tilting glass sunroof, Sunshade, 3 driver memory seat settings (includes door mirrors,)Cruise control with steering wheel controls, Power fuel remote release, Power windows with driver and passenger 1-touch down, Auto-locking doors, Steering wheel with manual tilting, manual telescoping, Illuminated driver and passenger-side visor mirrors, and more. The Bad: The transmission does not work. The car will not move. NOTE: A good used transmission is included with the purchase. This transmission was purchased from Neal Auto in Peoria Illinois with only 93,000 miles. There are some dings and dents (typical of a 10 year old car). You’ll need to put on some brake pads. The car will need a good cleaning. One rim has some cosmetic damage. The rest look pretty good. SHIPPING & PAYMENT: I’m a private seller and don’t have any relationships with auto shippers. This car will need to be towed away. You can pick the car up (with a trailer) or if you decide to ship I’m willing to be flexible and help (meet the shipper with the car).
