Vehicle Detail

Link to video for phone users http://youtu.be/gxpW5K7wvx8 This is a very solid Mach 1 that looks good and is ready to drive. This is a real 63C code Mach 1 verified by door data plate and Marti report. Wimbledon White with Dark Red deluxe interior. It has a 351W with FMX automatic transmission and power steering. Originally had a 3.00 open rearend but now has a 3.50 Trac-Lock. Previous owner had it for 29 years and drove it sparingly during that time. It is mostly stock and even still has a 2V carb on it. It has also never had a front spoiler or rear wing added like almost every other Mach’s out there. Although you can easily and inexpensively add them if you want. Car shows just over 100k miles and is original according to the previous owner. Judging by the condition I would say that the mileage is original but I have no way of verifying that. Always a Seattle area car and garaged for most of its life. The paint is about 20 years old and is driver quality, it is still very presentable. There are chips etc here and there but it is overall nice looking. It has a slight metallic to it that is really only noticeable in certain kinds of light. The body is very straight with no dents or dings except for one ding in the passenger door and that ding and the area around it has been touched up. Still has original paint in door jams, underside of hood and underside of trunk. Body panels line up well. The body is very solid with original floorpans, quarter panels etc. There is virtually no rust anywhere. Very solid floors, torque boxes, frame rails, rockers, trunk, trunk drop offs, quarter panels etc. The underside has some very light undercoating from the factory but much of the floor has no undercoating. The underside of this car is about as clean and rust free as you will find. The door corners look like they have some filler in them but no visible rust. The trunk is original and very clean with no rust. There are a couple bubbles at the bottom of the quarters and maybe one or two more bubbles on the whole car. The engine compartment is very clean and original with straight panels and good shock towers with no holes or cracks. Not rusted out underneath battery tray. The shock towers look very clean and have never been cut or torched like many have.. Bumpers and other chrome is in good shape, not perfect, but nice. Glass is good but the windshield is the original Carlite and does have chips and scratches from age. Original chrome wheels are in very good shape with very little, if any pitting. Trim rings have a few scuffs. Tires are just a couple years old and have very few miles on them. Weatherstripping is original and is showing its age. The interior is dark red deluxe and in very nice condition. Very nice upholstery front and rear. Headliner is excellent as are the rear sail panels. Carpet is in good shape and the dash has a cap that looks good. Door panels were recovered and they look nice but do have some non factory stitching. Still has original rimblow steering wheel. Console looks good with no cracks or fading. Woodgrain dash looks nice Rear interior quarters look good with no cracks or speaker holes. Windows roll up and down smoothly. Remote mirror works well. The 351W engine and FMX transmission were rebuilt and have less than 10k miles on them. Engine starts right up with no smoke or noise and runs good. It is not #’s matching but is a correct 1969 engine. It is stock except for a Pertronix module in the distributor (hidden but no more points.) The transmission has a shift kit and works well. It shifts harder than stock and easily will spin the tires into 2nd gear if you are getting on it. Rearend has been upgraded to a 3.50 Trac-Lock. It has a slight howl at highway speeds but not bad. Suspension works well and car tracks straight. Steering has typical play of an old Mustang. Electrical is in very good shape and things work including lights, signals, heat, wipers, all gauges, radio interior lights, reverse lights. The only thing that I can remember that doesn’t work is the horn because the rimblow switch needs replaced. It is ready to drive and enjoy right now, I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. Overall this is a nice looking and very solid Mach 1 with original quarter panels and floorpans that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. It is not a show car so you won’t worry about it constantly but it gets a huge response and thumbs up wherever you go. The casual observer will find very few faults with this car. In fairness to all bidders I will not disclose my reserve. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Car is sold as is where is. I have done my best to describe it accurately but please understand that it is 45 years old and still needs some restoration work done. It is available for inspection by appointment. International buyers welcome. Any bidder with a feedback rating of less than 10 must contact me before bidding or bid will be cancelled. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Car must be paid for in full within 5 days of auction end (no paypal.) Car must be picked up within 21 days of auction end unless prior arrangements are made.
