Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a very nice 1966 Pontiac Star Chief Executive sedan finished in its original Fontaine Blue (metallic silver blue) with matching blue interior. It is equipped with a 389 V-8 with a two barrel carburetor, a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, with power steering and brakes. This is the nicest original unrestored car of this vintage that I have ever seen or driven. The car runs drives and operates flawlessly. As far as I can tell, the paint is original. The deck lid may have been refinished at one time, but it matches the rest of the car perfectly. The chrome is original and in very good condition except for a slight dent in the rear bumper that is not really noticeable. The frame and undercarriage are clean and rust and damage free. The interior is original right down to the rugs and is in nearly perfect condition. The dash pad has some slight cracks which are hardly noticeable. The interior chrome is perfect! The clear plastic steering wheel is in perfect condition! I am pretty sure the rubber floor mats are original to the car. The trunk interior is clean and rust and damage free. The original trunk mat is in very nice condition. There is a stock factory installed real out truck light that you can remove and go around the car with, which is a neat option on these cars. The 5 tires on the car are 225-75-R-14 radial tires that are in very good condition and the spare matches the four on the car and it has never been used. The deluxe factory wheel covers are in very nice condition. The engine compartment has never been detailed and is in good original condition. The engine runs flawlessly. The car has recently been tuned up and the carburetor has been rebuilt. The brakes are all new including shoes, spring kits, wheel cylinders, rubber lines, new master cylinder, and rebuilt booster. All front suspension bushings have been replaced and the sway bar bushings and links are new. The exhaust system was replaced a few years ago with the original type parts (which means it is quiet) so the car purrs like a kitten! The battery is two years old. The engine does not burn any oil what so ever. The car was serviced (lube oil change and filter) when it was taken out of storage in May of 2014. So it is all ready to drive and enjoy! Options are – 389 V-8 two barrel engine, Turbo 400 transmission, power steering and brakes, tinted glass all around, radio, standard heater, visor vanity mirror, speed minder speedometer, factory Pontiac tissue dispenser, remote control drivers mirror, deluxe wheel covers, and factory installed fender skirts. I can’t say enough about the way this car runs and drives. It’s probably the best driving old car I have ever owned! The old saying “drives like a baby carriage” fits this car to a “T”. Rarely does an old car come along that has been as well taken care of as this one. I purchased this car from the people who helped with the original owner’s estate. I have every bit of paperwork for this car from new. I have the original bill of sale, the original loan agreement, the original owner’s manual, the original warranty book with the Protect-O-Plate, receipts for work that has been done to the car by the original owners. I could go on and on. We went on a trip throughout Vermont late in 2013. We went all over the state with this car on rural roads. No highway was taken during this trip. We averaged 18.5 miles per gallon which amazed us! This is the last of the three cars I have to sell. At 65 years old, it’s time to thin the heard! I have explained the car and its condition to the best of my ability and as I see it. The car is being sold as is where is with no warranty or guarantee. If you have any questions e-mail me through E-Bay or call me at 603-483-2355 and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. I have many other photos so if you need more, let me know. Inspections are welcome as long as it’s done before the auction ends. I will accept US funds only in a bank certified check or cash in person. Foreign bidders are welcome as long as it is paid for in US funds. I have a clear New Hampshire title for the car which will not be released until the funds are clear in my bank. I am a bit of a stickler where it concerns transport companies. Shipping is the complete responsibility of the buyer. I will be glad to assist as far as being sure the car is at the truck at the time of arrival, but the cost is the total responsibility of the buyer. I will meet your transport company during daylight hours only and I will not sign any shipping paper work what so ever! You hire the shipper and you deal with the shipper. I will not accept any late night calls or meet with your shipper any time at night. I have dealt with shippers twice in my lifetime so I know how they are. I would prefer that you send someone who is polite and can speak fluent English. Any sarcastic belligerent truck drivers will be sent away empty handed! I would rather keep the car than deal with rude people! Here’s hoping you understand how I feel about shipping companies! Beyond all that, good luck and happy bidding!
