Up for sale is a very nice 1959 Mercedes Benz 219. I acquired this car from a gentelman that I went to go buy a motorcycle from. We stepped into the garage to look at the motorcycle and this car was parked next to it. The mother of the gentelman said she wanted the car out of there and that her husbands health was deteriorating and he wouldnt be able to fix and she just wanted it out of there. The gentelman did own it for the last 25 years. So I ended up bringing it home and the lady did give me the original little pink slip and the original keys. I went ahead and put brand new tires on it and a brand new battery. The sun of the gentelman told me that they started the car about a year ago and that was the last time they did anything to it. As the father wasnt able to keep it up anymore. The car is in really nice shape. Never been in any accidents, it has all the chrome stripping all the way around, the windowsa are not broken, the interior is all there. The paint sun faded from sitting. I was trying to bring it back to life, but I am not a Mercedes guy, I put the battery and the motor does turn over. As the son stated to me that his dad used to drive it and the car was running very well. The car just needs a really good cleaning and some minimal motor work to be road worthy again. I do have the pink slip and the original keys for it. Everything opens and closes as it should. I pulled the plugs off and put oil down the cylinders and it did turn over, but thats as far as I got. Like I said im not a Mercedes guy. So I would rather see it go to a mercedes guy or someone else that would appreciate this car. Its a very unique car, just something about it interests you. I got it at a good price, so im just going to let it go to the highest bidder, and hopefully theyll give it the love it needs.
