Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Overview Up for sale is very nice numbers matching big block 72 Chevelle SS. It has undergone a frame on restoration 10 years ago. It has been enjoyed during the summer months since then and shows minor rock chips behind the wheels. There are also three very small dings on the right quarter panel. I tried to capture them in the pics but they are hard to see. All in all this is a great car that runs, drives, and rides like a Chevelle should. This car was built at the Arlington Texas factory and being a 72 it carries the “U” code in the VIN number indicating that it is a factory 396 (402) Chevelle. The VIN is also stamped on the engine pad and on the turbo 400 making it a matching numbers car. I did not check the smaller components like the carb, distributor, alternator, etc, but if you would like specific ones checked, I would be happy to do so. · Numbers matching engine, transmission, and rear axle · Complete engine and transmission rebuild, runs great and never runs hot. · Original 12 bolt axle has been upgraded with 3:42 gears and a new Eaton posi. · Many upgrades that look stock o Alumitech radiator o Larger front sway bar o Original AM radio that has all of its internals replaced with modern GM components. Sounds better then the reproduction radios that are being offered through many parts suppliers. · Wearing its original color Sequoia Green code 48 with white stripes (high quality repaint 10 years ago with PPG products). It still looks great and turns heads every where it goes. · The interior sports fresh seat covers, carpet, headliner, ear muffs, and package tray. It still wears its original door panels which are in very good condition for being original but not perfect. It also has its original un-restored dash housing that has never been cut or damaged. There is a three gauge pod mounted to the underside which did require that some holes be added. The chrome accents around the gauges are still original GM and look excellent. That’s a rare find with the 70-72 Chevelles. Radio holes are untouched as well. Nice dash!! · All five BFG Radial T/A’s are nearly new with almost zero miles on original SS wheels which were sand blasted epoxy primed and painted silver. (not factory correct but they look great) · 10 year old cosmetic restoration including new full NOS GM quarter panels and full outer wheel houses. · The balance of the sheet metal parts are original GM. No repro sheet metal parts were used on this car with the exception of the rear outer wheel houses. · Solid original trunk floor and floor pans · New windshield · New weather stripping for doors, roof rail, and trunk. On Jun-02-14 at 20:00:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to clarify a few things. I listed the car with A/C in the options area which it does have but it is not currently hooked up. This is visible in the pics but just case someone overlooked it I wanted to make sure I mentioned it. All of the components are there except the hoses and the system could easily be put back into service with a little work. The owners just never had the desire to do so. I also want to clarify that I am listing the car and managing this auction for close friends. The winning bidder will exchange payment and title directly with them at auction end. As stated in the payment section we are only accepting cash or wire transfer as forms of payment with the exception of the $500.00 down payment that is expected through PayPal within 48 hours of auction end. The car/title will not be released until we are confident all funds have been secured. I would expect that anyone selling a classic or muscle car would feel the same way. The car is available for inspection before the auction ends. Being the winning bidder does not give you the right of first refusal. An auction is just that, an auction. You bid, you win, you pay, you own. I have additional pics of the restoration/body work for serious bidders.
