Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop. A behind the barn find. 98% complete and running. It does yard drive. Missing a few pieces of trim. Original exhaust manifolds are missing, replaced with headers. This car needs a complete restoration. Hood, trunk lid, and door skins need replaced. There is rust around rear window. Frame has one spot of rust that I could find behind rear axle on drivers side. (see pic) Body is pretty straight with only a few minor dents and dings. There is a cut in driver side quarter panel. (see pic) Roof looks to be in good shape. No rust threw in cowl. Floors seem to be solid as well as trunk pans. There has been some work done in past where shocks mount in trunk pan.(see pic). Includes some extra parts, tail lights, and a new headliner that I believe is NOS. I believe engine is the original. It is the correct 265. The original exhaust manifolds have been replaced with headers. Original air cleaner is missing. Engine runs good off of gas can. Doesn't smoke and idles good. Trans works in drive and reverse. Did not want to push it. But will yard drive. Brakes need rebuild. Dash and gauges are in great shape. All lights and turn signals work. Seats are in great shape. All interior trim missing in photos is wrapped up and included. Car is sitting on 4 Buick road wheels. It does include original wheels and 3 of the original hubcaps. Car has clear title. Previous owner had all paper work including owners manual and accessory book in great condition. He also had a picture from magazine of ad that he purchased car from in I believe 1988. Car is listed with a reserve that is fair for a complete and unmolested 1956 Chevy that can be restored to original. Sheet metal is available for every need of this project. Email any questions and I will be glad to answer them asap to the best of my ability. I am not a expert on 1956 Chevrolet's, but I will try to answer any questions. I'm working on restoration of another car and don't have time, space, or money for this project. I wish I did. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Buyer is responsible for pick up of vehicle or arranging shipping. Full payment must be made within 7 days of auction close. Car can be stored for 30 days if needed.
