THE OVERVIEW Offered for an appreciating is this rare classic 1974 Mercedes Benz 450SL Roadster! Finished in royal blue metallic with gold hardtop and black canvas soft top with saddle leather interior, this 40 year-old classic Benz sports a nice running 4.5 liter V8 engine mated to the factory 3 speed automatic transmission. The recently non-working odometer shows just over 215K miles. It is overall a solid running and driving still presentable example with two tops, factory alloy wheels, dash cover and electric windows being offered here for about the cost of the sales tax alone on a new, quickly depreciating CLA250 Benz! PLEASE NOTE: I ALSO have SIX other classic Benzes....a gold 1973 450SLC that runs and drives great, a very low-mileage blue 1977 450SLC, a nice solid 1979 white 450SL and a nice original blue 1983 380SL, a non-running black on tan 450Sl and a silver 350se with 6.9 badging .I would be glad to sell all six of them as a package deal! THE BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this classic Benz is in decent/presentable 99,9% rust-free condition overall. It received one repaint in the metallic blue color before I acquired it. [used to be gold and still has gold gold hardtop.] The paint has held up fairly well with a still deep lustrous shine. There are various nicks, scratches, brush touched up spots and other blemishes. the canvas soft top is in very good shape with a little discoloration on the plastic window. THE INTERIOR The interior of this 450SL is in decent condition overall. It looks like the carpets have been replaced, the upholstery is in solid condition, the radio is missing, the dash has a couple cracks under the carpet cover. the a/c is inop. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This classic Benz starts, runs and drives fairly well with smooth acceleration, nice up and down shifting, solid braking and suspension.
