Vehicle Detail
I've come to the painful realization that I have way too much stuff in the yard. Consequently, I'm going on a selling spree, starting with this Sprint. It's a project for sure; the engine and transmission have been removed, so don't plan on driving it home. This car's most serious flaw (aside from its lack of engine, I mean) is the rust. At least one quarter panel would have to be replaced, if not both. The metal under the lower edges of the vinyl top is pretty rough, but I believe replacement quarter panels extend up far enough to take care of that. The front floor pans are relatively solid, but the section of floor behind the seat is pretty much shot. There's the usual rust in the bottom of the tailgate (which still opens and closes quite nicely, by the way), and the bed floor has a hole the size of a kid's fist. The frame, thankfully, appears to be very solid. All of this can be seen in the pictures, but I figured I should put it into words anyway. Hey, you can't call me lazy. As for the interior, it's all there I think, with the exception of the radio. The dash may be usable, but it is somewhat deformed and very slightly cracked. The seat I believe would clean up quite nicely, and the door panels and the headliner are in pretty good shape. The carpet is unsalvageable. As I'm sure some of you have already deduced, the SS stuff is not original to this car. By VIN, this is a Sprint Custom, which I believe is the mid-grade trim package. The rally wheels I'm pretty sure are factory GM, but I'm not familiar enough with these cars to know if they're supposed to be on this Sprint. As for the engine and transmission--they're included. This car was a daily driver when the previous owner decided to pull the 350 and soup it up a bit. He got as far as removing the heads and oil pan, which is how the engine now sits. I figure it's a good core, as is the transmission. I won't promise that everything that was removed from the car is still here; I know the radiator has been discarded, and the intake and exhaust manifolds are MIA, as are the carb and air cleaner and probably some other stuff that I'm not thinking about. And the right hand inner fender--for some reason that's gone missing, too. A few positives: The nearly-impossible-to-find bed trim is still all there, although none of it is super nice. The windshield is cracked, but all of the model-specific glass is good. The SS grille, as far as I can tell, is real (not a reproduction). And as I mentioned before, the tailgate operates as it should, as do all the windows. I had hoped to come up with a longer list of positives... Well, that's about it I suppose. I think I've done a pretty good job of portraying the car as it is, so please bid with confidence. I also ask that you take your bidding seriously, as I do not want to re-list this thing. Please read the description carefully, check out all the pictures, and ask any questions BEFORE you bid to prevent any surprises come pick-up time. Feel free to ask for more pictures; I have a boatload of them, but eBay will only let me post 24. This car is sold with a Bill of Sale only, because like most old Georgia cars, its title was lost or thrown away long ago. Thanks, and good luck!
