Vehicle Detail
This is my grandparents' Falcon. As you can see I have the original bill of sale from April 29, 1963. They bought this car to take my father to and from college (NJ to VA). I spent many years as a child riding in this car with my Pop-Pop, so it means a lot to me that it goes to someone who will take good care of it. I know that sounds goofy in a car ad, but it's true. The Falcon spend many years in New Jersey and then in Florida. It has been with me in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2001, always covered though not garaged. For a while I'd drive it around town on short trips to the grocery store, etc. but honestly it was a bit problematic as I'd always get stopped and asked questions about it! As a non-mechanically-savvy single mom, I found the constant inquiries a bit intimidating. The battery died about 5-6 years ago and I haven't done anything with the car since then, other than keep it covered. Recently I've moved and don't have room to store the Falcon at my new house. See photos for details, including a list of features on the original bill of sale. I also have a BIG STACK of papers related to the car's care over the decades; my grandfather kept meticulous records. Basically, the exterior is OK, considering the age of the car. The original roof was vinyl and has more or less disintegrated. Rust is minimal. Interior is impressively pristine. For local interested parties: LIMITED appointments available to see the car during the weekend of May 24-25 only. Contact me via ebay to arrange. Additional information: money from this car's sale will be used solely for my daughter's college tuition. She is a high school junior and aspires to be a pediatric oncologist. UPDATE SINCE SEVERAL PEOPLE ASKED THE SAME QUESTIONS: Condition of floorboards: I can pull back the rubber matts but the carpet and under-carpet layers of felt stuff are still very attached to the floor interior, so I couldn't inspect or take pix of these areas. I am around 130 lbs and the various interior floor areas can all support my weight. Condition of trunk interior: I pulled back the cool, plaid liner thing and there is surface rust on the right and left sides of the trunk interior. In the middle (over the gas tank) it is still shiny and silver (this panel is presumably made out of a different metal).
