Vehicle Detail
In 2003, my company began a partnership with the Rahal Letterman Racing (now called Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) Indycar team to sponsor a then unknown racer by the name of Danica Patrick. My weekend job quickly went from mowing my lawn to "Motorsports Manager" for the company. Best non paying job I've ever had. Anyone who has been around a racetrack involved in any aspect of hospitality knows that the skill set is easy...as long as you can be in four places at once. It's all about managing chaos. We got involved with the really terrific Rahal team to schmooze customers, employees, vendors and the like in a high octane environment. Great idea. However, it quickly became apparent that I needed some sort of scooter to get around the pits and paddock. In a span of five minutes you may need to be at the front gate handing tickets off to clients, coordinating the evening's dinner reservations and getting said Ms. Patrick over to an interview on SpeedTV. A live interview. Really can't be late for that one. So, I went shopping. The Honda Ruckus had just come out and it was just the ticket. After the first weekend at the track honestly it became the hottest thing in the pits. By the end of the season there was one at every team. It's great because it has those big tires that handle every type of terrain, yet is still smooth on the road. This one is red, obviously. Still has a couple stickers on it which you can remove if you want. It's got super low miles, runs perfectly and is in great condition. A couple of minor scratches as shown in the pics. I've never changed anything but the oil and the battery. It goes about 34 mph. I've carried a small passenger a short distance but it's really not made for two unless you hop it up. (There's a whole subculture of Ruckus fans that do amazing mods to this bike but this one is bone stock.) It's great as a runabout around town. I used it for a couple years around midtown Miami to go to the grocery store, Target, and out for an afternoon drink. But let's face it, you're not going to pick up chicks with this thing. It's a great little scooter in wonderful condition. Would make a perfect addition to your garage. I'll even throw in a couple of team sportshirts as part of the deal. And yes, Danica has ridden on it if that's important to you.
