Vehicle Detail
1988 Porsche 930S FACTORY Slant Nose Turbo Cabriolet Wrecked Rebuildable Project Offered at NO RESERVE with a CLEAR TITLE is my beloved 1988 Factory Slant Nose Turbo Porsche Cabriolet. If you’re a true Porsche enthusiast, you know how rare these “505” optioned cars are. I believe there were only about 235 made in 1988. Add the cabriolet top, red seat piping and full leather (including leather covered heater console and knob) options and this is literally a one of a kind car. TITLE IS A FREE AND CLEAR OHIO TITLE IN MY NAME – NOT A SALVAGE OR REBUILT TITLE I’ve owned this treasure for 8 years and, if it weren’t for a tragic accident on April 5th, 2014 this car would never be available for sale. I searched for over a year to find the perfect Porsche in the perfect color combination and this beautiful car was it. Virtually everything on this car worked perfectly…power top, power windows, power seats, power door locks, etc. The A/C needed recharging but, in Ohio, I didn’t need it anyway. The headlight washers didn’t work but I didn’t take the Porsche “4 wheeling.” The original Turbo engine with 84k miles ran perfectly and the original 4 speed transmission was fully rebuilt with only about 2k miles on it since the rebuild. I’m offering this car at NO RESERVE with a very low starting bid amount in the hopes that someone will buy it and rebuild it. This is such a rare and significant part of Porsche history and it deserves to survive. If I had time, I would rebuild it myself but I just don’t. There’s a 1987-1989 Cabriolet full front clip on eBay as I write this for only $2,200 that would be the perfect donor for a rebuild. I hate to even mention this but a savvy Porsche person will know that significant money can be made parting this rare car out. The pictures pretty much speak for themselves. I hit a tree with the left front corner of the car at 40 miles per hour. When the dust settled and the ringing in my head stopped, the engine was still running fine until I shut it down with the key. The gear shift still moves through all the gears so, I believe most of the significant damage is limited to the front ½ of the car, especially the left front corner. Although the left front wheel is toast, it looks like the left front brake caliper and rotor are still in good shape. Look at all of the pictures carefully. I’ll gladly answer any questions you may have via ebay email or phone. I’ll need a $1,000 deposit within 48 hours of the auction close with the balance being paid in cash or cashier’s check either in advance or at time of pick-up. The car needs to be picked up within 14 days of auction close. I’ll gladly work with you in coordinating transportation. Obviously, the car is sold as is, where is, without any warranty either expressed or implied and shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.I am marketing this car locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. Good luck bidding!!!
