Vehicle Detail
1927 CHEVROLET SERIES AA CAPITOL COACH. Very complete and mechanically sound vehicle - a truly wonderful example. The current owner (an engineer) has taken meticulous care of the vehicle over the last 30 years. I was told it was originally a North Carolina car. Unfortunately, he is in his 80's now and is no longer able to store and maintain the car. I am listing the car for him at his request. The overall condition of this vehicle is amazing. I cannot find any rust or wood rot on the vehicle. The paint still holds a great shine - it's not showroom perfect - there are a few scratches and paint chips here and there but overall it is in extremely good condition. The interior is in very nice condition - good floors, headliner, upholstery. Beautiful wood steering wheel. All of the gauges are in good working order - temp gauge on radiator, gas gauge. etc. The 4 cylinder engine fires right up and runs strong. The 3 speed transmission and clutch are in good working order and provide smooth shifts. The drum brakes are also in good working order. The steering is in good condition and the car tracks down the road well. All of the electrics work. The car has both front and rear bumpers which I believe maybe a rare option. The car is equipped with the original steel wheels including the spare. The tires have almost no miles on them but are starting to get a few cracks. This is as complete and solid of an example as you can get for an 87 year old Chevy. I cant find anything missing on the car, its all there, no parts to hunt for at all. This is the kind of car you would lead a Memorial or Labor Day Parade with. It stops people in their tracks. I am a 60's muscle car guy and don't know very much about 20's antique collector cars. I have been told that the AA Series really brought Chevy into the spotlight in 1927. The reserve has been set low for this vehicle; I have been instructed to sell to the highest bidder by the owner. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have about the car. Good luck and Happy Bidding.
