This is a dream I must sell to finance another dream, my small business. This motorcycle is stock, unrestored, virtually perfect but for a small crack in a side cover that is barely visible. This bike has been loved and lovingly serviced by "The Doctor of Hondas," Phil White in Waterford MI. (Phil is nationally known and I encourage you to stop by his place if you are in the Detroit area. The bikes outside and the knowledge inside will amaze you.) This CB has very low miles, less than 200 per year! All-stock CB 550s in this condition have been selling for over 7k on the coasts; however, I do realize, that I am not on the coasts and have priced this bike accordingly. The bike is a pleasure to ride and is very quick off the line, as well as great in the curves. Like all Honda Fours of this period, mine is a bit cold blooded if left alone for a week or two, but with four or five cranks fires right up. This is not a mark of the bike's age or a defect; I have owned many Honda Fours and all of them, even when new, had this cold-blooded trait. Once warm, or when ridden fairly often, the bike fires right up. The real value of this bike, though, is as an investment. That's why I hate to let it go. In this regard, be careful when comparing motorcycles. There are thousands of "almost stock" bikes out there; very few totally stock in this kind of condition. That seemingly small difference is a huge difference to collectors. If you doubt me, ask some. A few notes: 1) miles will change because the bike is ridden often. 2) I list the bike as "local pick-up only" because I will not arrange shipping; I will, however, help all I can with arrangements you might make. If you buy the bike sight unseen, I assure you that you will be thrilled. 3) I work nights and at my business during the day. Thus, I value my time (and sleep) very highly. Please be serious about the purchase. I don't have time for games, but I will be happy to answer serious questions and make time for serious buyers. 4) No, you can't ride the bike. You can, watch me demonstrate the bike from your car or your own motorcycle. And you are free to inspect it to your heart's content.
