Vehicle Detail

LAST YEAR MADE! Very collectible if you like 80's El Caminos. This one has bucket seats, console and floor shift automatic overdrive, cruise control and a/c, although the a/c belt is currently off so I don't know if it works, but everything is there. The interior is good but the dash has cracks. the mechanicals are the best parts, it runs and drives great. It had a new warranty GM 350 installed in 1990 and last fall we put on an edelbrock 4bbl intake and carb to pep it up. Its currently tagged and registered and is driven a few times a week, has been for about a year. Runs great, but has an exhaust leak and some of the tires are showing age. The paint is the downside, its original but faded, the hood showing the worst of it and starting to surface rust on the front half. but the body is very straight, no rust on the body and the hood is superficial only. Would be very easy to repaint. All around its a decent car and runs and drives great, really smooth and easy. Plenty of get up and go. I inherited this car and am just not a chevy guy, and I have a 1969 Ranchero and dont want two pickup-cars. Someone else can benefit from this one. I have driven it on long trips up to 150 miles with no problems, so I wouldn't be too worried about picking it up and driving it home if you live in about 500 miles. Don't know if I would hop in and go to California though. I am sure the engine would be fine just cant say about the tires. One was replaced last fall, the others are holding up fine but they aren't new.On Apr-21-14 at 11:50:45 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I checked the 'exhaust leak' and there is no muffler. The pipe is cut right before where the muffler would be, and there are two tubes on the cat convertor that are not hooked up, I guess the smoke stuff was removed or something but it doesnt appear to be anything like exhaust manifolds or anything like that. The pipe appears OK as well, dont know why they cut the muffler off. Just needs a new pipe and muffler made up in my opinion. Also took photos of floors and rockers and frame. NO RUST at all, great shape. Will try to post those tonight. On Apr-21-14 at 12:21:31 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Engine coding: V0115PHH / internet says it was made in Flint MI, Jan 15th, looks like 1991 if I am reading the VIN portion right, 5th digit, serial number: 511797. The suffix code comes out to PHH which is 88 350sbc Truck block 195 L-05 TBI. From what I read I guess these were made and on a shelf, and then got the VIN part stamped when they went into the vehicle. This was a warranty, so I guess it was cast in 1988 and used in the el camino under some type of GM or factory warranty or changeout work in 1991? alittle confusing to me but the coding is clear that it is a 350 truck block, late 80's. Could have been a warranty job in 1988 (as the car is a 1987) and I was just told wrong when they said 1990.On Apr-21-14 at 18:39:58 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: added photos as requested of rockers and floors. great shape. Any more questions feel free to ask.
