I "acquired" this bike as part of a barn- find lot purchase of Triumph parts. I've been told that it is a 1972 or 1973. Engine # SL250SE 1003974. Frame # 552.68.1003974. I received the bike with the engine in a box, and the top end removed, protected by oil & rags stuffed in the bottom-end to keep-out dirt. The bottom-end is very clean (see photo) and the rod has no play. Turns over smoothly & shifts through the gears with solid engagement. (forgot to show kickstarter, sorry ). I glass blasted the top end parts to inspect them & found no cracks or abnormal wear. (see photos ). No cam or cam chain, carb, fasteners. See photos for what is included. I put the engine in the frame with goofy, non-correct bolts so the bike would be easier to ship. Rolls with no problem. I hope this can find a good home after being forgotten for 30 years. USA ONLY. Thank you & good luck. ** FRAME : I was just told that because there is no frame tag identifying it with a Honda frame number, that it might be an aftermarket frame. The old farmer I bought it from was told it was Rickman, but I have no way of confirming this. The Honda Motorcycle Identification Guide states that the frame should be SL250E - 1000001, etc. not the 552.68.0649 that is clearly stamped on the upper left side of the neck. Also, the foot pegs don't look like factory Honda items. If you can help identify this frame, please let me know & I will post your comments.
