Vehicle Detail
Offered up for bid is my brand-new-condition 1990 7-Up Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mustang Convertible with only 14,135 miles (at time of listing). This car is in excellent condition. As you'll see in the pictures, it even has the original Goodyear Gatorback tires with very little tread use! The tires still have the nubs. The Mustang 7-Up Edition is a rare car with only 4,103 being produced, and of those, 2,743 were automatics. The cars originally were intended as a give away for an NCAA contest but the program was cancelled. Ford liked the cars so much that they produced them as a special edition in honor of the 25th year of Mustang's production. I bought the car about 8 years ago with every intent to drive the car on weekends and to car shows. However, once it fully dawned on me that this beauty was a 25th anniversary limited edition Mustang, still had the original tires (and possibly brakes), was going to appreciate in value and was listed in Hemmings as one of the top future collector muscle cars, I decided not to drive it anymore. The car has always been covered, garaged and has never seen inclement weather as long as I've owned it. I start it about once a week to keep the gaskets from drying out. I was told by the original owner that he treated the car the same. Here's some of the pluses as I see it for investing in this car:- You're basically buying a brand new Mustang for many thousands less than a newer one.- It's more than likely going to appreciate in value because of it's condition and the fact that it's a 25th Anniversary Limited Edition model...you can't say that about the newer model year Mustangs.- Next year is the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang which should increase the value of this car even further.- In most states as I understand it, you can get historic plates for the car in 9 months from now (2015) and your insurance goes down significantly if you register the car this way. Here's another plus for those that plan on buying the car and driving it. The 5.0L High Output engine that's in the car gains about 20 more horsepower when you put on an open air filter system and performance exhaust. I've owned other 5.0 liters before and know that this little trick helps the performance significantly through better breathability. So when I first bought the car I put on a set of hi-flow mufflers and a simple open air filter. But no cutting occurred when I did this with the tail pipes or airbox. So in other words, they took the old mufflers off and slipped on the new ones. I saved the original mufflers so they can be slipped back on at anytime. I also saved the original air box for the same reason. So if anyone wanted to bring it back to day 1 condition it's very easy to do.
