I am re-listing this with a LOWER RESERVE Several parts changes have since been made to the bike since last listed to enhance its originality, these include: Front wheel assembly has period (circa 1972) full with hub, includes new: spokes, Barum tire, steel rim Control Levers are the original Magura typeSeat is the lower period type, new seat cover This bike was both cosmetically and mechanically restored by me New chassis parts include, but are not limited to: Tires: Barum 2:50x21, 3:50x18 , tubes, spokes - front and rear, rear rim, rear brake hub assembly, sprockets, chain, rear axle assembly, chain adjusters, all cables, Magura trap door throttle and grips, handlebars, fork seals and gaiters/clamps, seat cover, most all fasteners, fiberglass front and rear fenders, gas cap, petcock, rear brake rod assembly, air filter assembly, air intake hose, wheel bearings, All NEW PARTS Motor was built using using NOS crankcases (die-cast type). New motor parts include, but not limited to: bearings and seals, piston, rotary valve, transmission gears, shafts and gear selector mechanism, kick start lever, outer cases, clutch plates, Carburetor case grommet (these are impossible to find), ALL NEW PARTS Carburetor has been Vapor Blasted clean (I can Vapor Blast your parts, if desired) All fiberglass parts were professionally painted correct Maico yellow Expansion chamber is original and perfect, no dents present. Rear shocks are KONI, I can provide a New pair of NJB shocks in lieu of these Frame number is 881040 Bike starts, runs, shifts and makes lots of noise, as it was designed to. Claimed 21 HP @ 9,000 rpm Motor has about 15 minutes of run in time on it to verify it functions. It may require additional tuning or jetting depending on your location (elevation) This bike took home FIRST PLACE award in the European Dirt class at the 2013 Motorado Classic Motorcycle Show Included is a CD containing 125 Maico workshop manual, parts list, several road test, brochures and more You can race it or let it sit in your living room next to your 501 Maico, either way it is an investment you most likely will never lose money on.
