It's hard to believe that this car is nearly 13 years old, that's right, 2001 was 13 years ago now. However this 740iL features only 29,849 miles and has only one owner since leaving the factory. At the front of the body you have the instantly recognizable signature split grill at the front resting below the famous BMW logo on the hood. Quad headlights flank the grille while fog lights are below. On the hood and down the sides of the car you have accent lines in the body that give it an aggressive look for a 4-door. At the back of the car you'll find 740iL badging and another blue and white BMW logo above the rear bumper. Powering the BMW is a DOHC 32 valve 4.4 liter V8 that was rated at 282hp at 5400 RPM and 324 lbs. ft. of torque. The engine could propel the vehicle 0-60 in six seconds flat and was good in the quarter mile for a time of 14.5 at 97mph, not too shabby for a stock vehicle that weighed over 4400lbs. Pop the hood and you'll find BMW lettering on the intake cover and valve covers. The all-aluminum block uses variable valve timing and Bosch engine management to produce the near 300hp. Flip the BMW upside down and you'll see that mated to the engine is the original 5-speed automatic transmission that actually has adaptive controls that will "learn" the driving habits of the driver and adjust the shift points. The combination was good for a top speed that was governed to 129mph. For the suspension the BMW utilizes front and rear independent suspension to achieve an incredible ride. 4-wheel power disc brakes are responsible for slowing the vehicle. In front of the brakes are the original alloy rims that contain another BMW logo and have been wrapped in Michelin rubber. Inside the BMW is where the vehicle really shines. Swing open the door and you will reveal an interior that is as practical as it is luxurious. The two-tone leather interior blends a tan and brown throughout the inside of the car. The 14-way adjustable driver's seat ensures that you will be as comfortable as possible behind the wheel. The windows and sunroof all open with a single touch, and you even get a hands free phone system. In front of the driver is a standard instrument panel. In between the front two seats are the controls for the AC, AM/FM/CD Player/Cassette player, and a nice sized digital display. Above the front seats is a tan headliner that is still holding strong. With the addition of the back seats the BMW is capable of housing five comfortably down the road. The interior is without a doubt a great place to log miles from.
