It is located in a collection in Grapevine TX. If you were to walk into your local Buick dealership in 1983 or 1984, this is the quality of "Demonstrator" or "Certified Pre-owned Buick" you would have found. Virtually without wear and worthy of Buick highest distinction of certification, this 1983 Park Avenue is, without question, the nicest of its kind and is the lowest mileage example you will find anywhere on earth. This car was originally purchased by a physician who was unable to drive because of failing health. It was driven for less than six months in 1983 and since that time has been properly covered and stored in a climate controlled environment until it came to me through my attorney who represented the estate of the original owner's family. Of the many classic and ultra low mileage classic cars I have owned and sold, this is among the most well preserved originals I have ever seen or heard of. It is, in every respect, the ultimate time machine. Finished in the extremely rich and rare Dark Autumn Maple Firemist over matching cordovan leather, this car is as crisp and as new as it was the day it rolled off the GM assembly plant in Flint, Michigan. Its original matching vinyl top virtually sparkles and the leather is as soft and supple (never dyed) as when it was new. Virtually every electronic component and feature operates flawlessly and properly. From the cruise control to the power antenna, to the electronic temperature control air conditioning system, windows and seat functions, this car is simply: new. There are many things that set this exceptional and rare Park Avenue apart, and among them is the fact that this is one of the most highly optioned cars you could purchase. With the exception of a sunroof (which GM farmed out and was historically unreliable and leaky), this last of an era car has very rare options including a leather interior, concert sound stereo, electronic locking fuel cap (ultra rare), the athletic and stylish Buick rally wheels and dual power reclining seats. The paint is absolutely without imperfection and is 100% original. It has never been touched since original GM production and shows perfectly, without even the slightest road chip or fading. As lovers of these cars know, the burgundy colorscape of that era was much loved but easily succumbed to fading and checking; but as the photos attempt to show, this paint is as vibrant and alive as it was over 30 years ago. Since coming to me it has undergone many hours of hand buffing to achieve a luster and beauty that was not present even in 1983. The massive Chrome grille is without pit or blemish, the hand applied pinstripes are as new and even the original bumper fillers are in exceptional condition (an utter rarity), and all the directional and light bezels gleam as new and are crystal clear. Even the cutting edge side marker lamps and dashboard "Park Avenue" illumination work perfectly. The engine compartment that houses the legendary 5.0 liter V8 is not soiled with the horrible shiny goop and spray paint that many sellers try to pass off as original. The engine bay is simply white-glove clean and preserved to day one standards. But just wait until you see the under-carriage... You've heard the expression, "the bottom looks as nice as the top;" but in this instance it is absolutely true. The brass brake springs shine like new, the gas tank is as day one and the authentic and original GM exhaust system and fittings are indisputable proof that this car has never seen an element of nature other than pure oxygen. The entire under-carriage is perfectly preserved and is a marvel to behold. Virtually all the books and delivery material which accompanied the car when new will also be included, including all delivery materials in the factory pouch. To put it succinctly, this is a one-of-a-kind luxury standard-bearer creation of GM that will never be duplicated and can never be replaced. It is the last of the venerated rear wheel drive C-body cars which survived the emasculation of the 1985 successors that were the stunted GM stepchildren saddled with a sideways mounted six cylinder sewing machine engine. Collectors agree that this is among GM's most beautiful creations of that era and will never happen again. The price has been established in consideration of the fact that it is a rapidly appreciating asset that is without peer among modern collectors and is a car that, in years to come, is sure to stand alongside the $150,000 plus Roadmaster's, Limited's and cherished Buick's of the 1950's and 1960.
