Vehicle Detail
1973 Pontiac GTO, rare original 455 car. The PHS is shown and the Y in the vin represents 455. Pontiac only built 544 such cars. The PHS shows a long list of desirable options including the 3.42 safe-t-track rear, rally II's, tach / gauges etc. etc. The car has been off the road and stored inside for several years. I bought for a some day project but after 10+ years of storage, I don't see it happening. The engine is a '73 455 but not vin matching numbers. The trans. and rear end are the originals. The engine has a block date of C193, 4X heads C273 & C223, intake C293, distributor 1112807 3c8, and carb is 1705274 with electric choke. I bought the car not running and that's how it is today. It would turn over when I first got it but now the engine is stuck. It has been inside a heated building and the fluids had been drained. The best way to look at this, the engine should come out and be freshened up. It looks like it has never been apart. The body is very straight and has been repainted, base coat clear coat...again this is how I bought it. The quarters have been repaired, evidence inside of the trunk, but not noticeable from the exterior. The front driver & pass side floors have been patched. The person did a okay job for a driver quality car. The bad spot was cut out and new steel welded in. The rest of the floor and trunk appears to be very solid. The frame is good. The interior is intact but needs to be redone.Original Admiralty Blue with black interior and no A/C cluttering up the engine compartment. The door bottoms are solid, as well as the fenders. The radiator support, inner fenders, battery tray, hood are all in great shape. I just put 4 brand new tires on a set of restored Rally II's, so they all hold air and the car steers and rolls easy. This could be an easy project car that has decent paint. The paint is above average but not Autorama material. Or the car is a great candidate for a full restoration. That is up to the new owner. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The car is sold as is and where is. The buyer is responsible for all shipping / transporting costs. I will assist and cooperate with shipping companies if needed. I have sold other cars and know how this works. A $500 deposit is required immediately after the auction ends and an email with your contact information.
