Vehicle Detail
***THERE IS A SLIDESHOW WITH MORE DETAILED PICS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS AUCTION*** 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup. Truck was originally forest green with white interior with a 265 V8 and a 3spd manual transmission. As far as I can tell the engine in this truck is the original 265. The transmission is a 67 Saginaw 3spd. The 3spd is sitting in the bed and not connected. It would be a floor shift truck though and the shifter is there and included. The VIN plate is missing from the pillar however I was able to find the VIN on the frame. These trucks are getting harder to find. I have included pics of build ideas for this truck. It just depends on how far you want to go with it as to how much money you will want to spend to redo it. This truck will need a ton of body work. Both fenders and doors need patching. The roof has holes from either lights or a big mirror in it and will need to be patched. The bed has a steel plate welded in and will have to be cut out and repaired if you want to go back with a wood bed. The side of the bed has a couple holes that will have to be patched. Both rockers/steps are totally gone and will have to be replaced. And as always the cab corners need to be replaced. The good news is that the hood is useable and the inside of the engine bay is solid with no holes. Only the passenger window and rear window glass is good. Everything else will have to be recut. The frame is solid everywhere but in one spot where the leaf spring joins inside the drivers side rear well. See the pics. The engine is there but is locked up. Both valve covers are rusted through so it will definitely have to be rebuilt. The seat is out of a 60s car and was a power seat at one time (haha). Pretty cool two tone seat that could be recovered and used with some new seat mounts. The bumpers and bumper brackets are good and straight. The bumpers just need to be rechromed. All of the headlights and buckets are there in the box. There is no title. Alabama law does not require a title for vehicles 35+ years old. Car will come with a bill of sale.
