Vehicle Detail

1949 Ford 2 door business coupe project car. I bought this car with the intentions of building it similar to this year's Hot Rod Power Tour Car, but have since decided to build my '38 sedan instead. Given that, something's got to go- my loss your gain. I bought this car from the owner of a body shop that was retiring, selling off all his projects. The car has had new quarters installed on both sides, and the entire body has been shot with epoxy primer. The dark spots above the rear wheel well is paint peeling, not rust. It looks like something was spilled and peeled the paint. The trunk floor still needs to be patched, the rockers could also stand some repair. The front fenders and grill surround have been welded together and smoothed, otherwise the body panels look to be stock. I have several headlight buckets, taillights, trunk hinges, door handles, but no grill parts. I have a pair of bumpers that came with it and might work, but not sure what they came from. I have the windshield trim without glass, door glass for both doors still installed, rear side windows are fixed but I also have a set of the swing open style with trim if desired, no back glass. The interior has all the glass trim rings, extra arm rests, front bench and rear seats already reupholstered with grey tweed fabric, extra seat side covers. I do have a pair of bucket seats and matching rear bench that I considered swapping out that will also go with it. The dash is complete with all knobs, speedo etc. The radio opening has been cut for a modern radio but I do have a complete uncut extra steel dash that goes with.I was going to modify the stock dash with the second dash just like the Power Tour car. The original flathead V8 and 3 speed are still intact, looks like stock rear axle as well. The frame is stock and looks to be in good shape. I have not tried to start the engine although he said it was running when he started the body work. It still has everything connected and a 12 volt battery installed. The tires are new wide whites- excellent tread but started to dry crack a bit. This car could be a sweet rat rod with a little finish work, or a complete custom hot rod- your choice. Please feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer them as best as possible. It's been stored inside and is squeezed in between several other cars making additional pics hard to get. I will try to add some more over the next day or so. I do have a CLEAR TITLE and current registration is up to date, sold as is. $500 deposit due within 24hrs of end of auction unless other arrangements are agreed upon at end of auction, full payment due within 7 days. I can store the car inside for a short time as well with full payment. It rolls easily and I can help load on a trailer if needed. PLEASE DO NOT BID if you have 0 feedback or do not intend on making payment- don't waste my or your time please. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! On Mar-19-14 at 18:56:13 PDT, seller added the following information: added more pics of the car including the dash, interior, and some of the extra parts. You can see in the dash pics I found the hood ornament, door and window handles, 2 wiper motors with linkage, gas filler pipe, etc. In the back seat are all the window frames, chrome trim, and extra rear windows. You can see the front and rear seats have already been reupholstered- there's also the extra bucket seats and rear bench as well. The rear bench is a fold down style and I have the bracket and release cables too. The plan was to maybe install them and be able to have access from the trunk with the seats folded down like modern cars. I had cleaned the seats off for the pics- I then put a pile of parts back in the car including 2 sets of headlight buckets and the windshield trim and chrome.
