Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE AUCTION - THIS CAR WILL BE SOLD TO A QUALIFIED BUYER 1964 Corvette Coupe Convertible with Sharp Looking Black on Red Color Combination 327 Holley 4 BC, 4 speed Hurst shift. This car was purchased from a Florida Senior Citizen who claimed to be the 2nd owner and I have enjoyed her as a daily driver and am presently beleived to be the 3rd owner. I recently took her on a long road trip and had no issues other than discovering that these sporty Corvettes are more for the younger crowd. I am also a collector/owner of a plurality of 67-77 series Cadillac Eldorado vehicles. I purchased this Corvette because of the sharp color combination to add to my collection and although the driving experience is fast and typical to Corvette performance it is no longer for me since I am accustomed to being isolated from the road and surrounded by quite comfort when driving my vintage Cadillac Eldorado cars. Having said all that,.. here is what I would do to the vehicle if I was to keep her over the longer term. I would spend 5k on a top-of-the-line show quality paint job and would re-chrome the door handles and mirrors. The bumpers are decent but not show quality but were re-chromed at some point so I would leave as-is or replace. I would leave the interior as-is because it is very nice and appears original to me and the red interior is a supper look against the sharp black exterior. I would fix the original clock and am/fm radio and I would replace the manual antenna for a more elegant power antenna and fix the windshield wipers. I would also suggest to add weather stripping around the convertible top where it seals against the body if your going to have the top up because of the airflow noise . That's about it as far as I can see. I can not disclose anything else other than what I know about the car. The odometer shows 68,300 miles, of course I can NOT validate it originality although the car looks and drives like a car consistent with such mileage or greater. The previous owner (Florida Senior Citizen) provided me with a hand written list of what he said were recent repairs over the past 2 years aggregating $5,000 but there were no receipts whatsoever but his disclosure appears to be legitimate so I did not question his repairs. Overall this car is a good daily driver and a real head turner on the street. The compression gauge show just over 40psi when driven and no smoke whatsoever and the shifting is very responsive. The car had been repainted 10 years ago according to the previous owner and looks very sharp from 10 ft away. When you view the surface you will see some miniature sized bubbling or pimpling coming up under the paint and there are some spider cracking in the rear and around the antenna This car is being listed with NO RESERVE ,..at a very low price. I believe if I spent 5k on her she would bring 45-50k at auction easily. As such, the new buyer will have the opportunity to buy her at a good price and spend as much money as they desire to make her show quality or as little money is possible if they just want to drive and enjoy the car. When you bid on this Corvette you are bidding to BUY IT! You are not bidding for the opportunity to ask questions and then change your mind and you are NOT bidding to view the car and you are NOT bidding for the right to inspect the car. PLEASE MAKE YOUR ON-SITE INSPCETIONS BEFORE BIDDING. ON-SITE INSPECTION IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. NO WARRANTY IMPLIED OR OFFERRED. THIS IS AN AS-IS SALE. I AM MAKING NO RESPRESENTATIONS WHATSOEVER REGARDING THE CONDITION OF THE CAR. Please be advised that the eBay auction process is a legal forum for binding sales ,.. Having said that,..please be serious and do NOT ruin my auction because you want to play on-line with the idea of owning a Classic Corvette.. If you have questions please contact me before you bid 7273647523. Please have your funds arranged before you bid and if your married and henpecked then please make sure you ask your wife for permission before you bid.
